You can only guess and the way you team is playing with butts clenched, its under pressure. I reckon pep has decided last hurdle is done though. He's supremely confident of destroying Leicester defence at home
He already said that he is being strategic in his last two games and not going to do Liverpool any favours (coded for saying he will role over against City so his men are more fresh for the more winnable game). Leicester is an almost guaranteed 3 points for City.
ermmmm.... heres the problem for poor old gobshite brendan Battle for 7th: he's 3 points behind wolves. the GD is very similar so "resting" v city will hand wolves 7th .. wolves play fulham at home and could add 4 goals to GD while Leicester play city. thats in anyones language a 6 point gap with one to go so if he doesn't win v city 7th is gone now how about 8th v 10th in tbale. well everton are 1 point behind and watford are too. Everton play burnely and spurs. Watford have fa cup to look to, they play cheslea and west ham so theres no battle for 8th really. If leicester with a full weeks rest until the following game can't give city a game in a meaningless tie at end of season then they REALLY appointed the wrong man. The tv cameras are on you. you really just want to keep it 1 or 2-0 and you'll get credit for trying. so: if you want european football next year you have to try v city. If you don't ( cos you might have sense) then staying 8th is still worth a good few million in prize money. you just want to not be passed.
We used to have Brodgers at Pool, we know he's exactly the kind of man to write off the City game and hope for 3 points in last game.
Well, that's that, then. All over bar the shouting IMO. No wonder what we throw at the bastards they always have a ****ing answer! It wasn't enough and on top of that we can kiss goodbye to the CL. If we hadn't whimpered out of the ****ing FA and League cups early doors and not put all our eggs in one basket we might've been a bit happier this morning. As it is, I'm just ****ing gutted!
sorry wishi not having that ****e, rather have been 2nd in league(still hope of 1st lol) and cl semi final (again still hope) than similar in cups. we don't have the squad to compete on all fronts so had to prioritize, for me we made the right choice, just because we come up against a ****ing good city team we made the right choice and have given it a good go. i will save the next year is our ****ing year until sunday evening
I agree, I hope that we improve the squad this summer so that we can have a stab at domestic cups but as far as managing the season goes Klopp has good it right and if not for the fact that City are so very good this would have been the season to end the drought. It's been an incredible season but unfortunately we are looking like falling short but it's been amazing and I'm confidant that we'll challenge again next season. Anyway I still hope some strange miracle happens. No need to regret anything this season.
We tried our best. City were awesome for 13 games. We lost this title at city when 1-1 after recovering form 0-1 and then we didn't defend well enough and let sane have a run. If that game finished 1-1 that title was done. I have my sulk when we drew with leicester and west ham. both games points thrown away in. We've won 9? in a row now? city have won 13 in a row. We have 94 points. Thats doing your best. The CL is what it is. a bonus. We got to SF which imo after the group draw is a minor miracle. the bayern and porto draws suited us obviously but we just didn't have the rub of the green away to barca. It could have been 1-0 in the end. it could have been 1-1.. but it wasn't so again.. thats fine, we tried our damnest and barca knew they had a game there.
Oh, come on...they've had 3 1-0s on the bounce. They haven't been that good and they've been helped by referees with golf balls for eyes! I agree our squad isn't complete yet, but what worries me is your Barca or RM will whisper in Salah or Mane's ear and before you know it we'll have to buy their replacements, wait for the inevitable 'gel' and build again! I can't wait another 29 years. I won't live that long!!!!
If we can improve the squad then progression further into the domestic cups becomes a reality, if we had tried this season we wouldn't be as close to City and out of the CL earlier imo. Add that to the fact there's no certainty that we would have won one of them. We used to win the odd cup and use that as a way saying that we're still a top team when the reality was that we were anything but that. Right now we are a top team and will continue to do well.
