Oh blimey, sorry. We've lost several in my time and each one's a hammer blow that makes us wonder why we do it. Vin
I love black cats. Reminds me of my the puss we had when I was growing up. Sorry for your loss Helen.
Thanks Vin. I know what you mean but the house is so quiet and I keep looking round for her so I don't think I'll be cat-less for long. Volunteering for Cats Protection, I know how many animals need rehoming so I'm going to wait a few weeks to see what comes into our branch...
Thanks "Sue" I do too and don't understand the dislike for black or black and white cats. Stupid superstition on the part of some people. I probably won't get another black next but certainly not writing them off either...
Thanks Fran. Well, she had a good life as soon as I got hold of her! She'd been dumped either pregnant or after giving birth to two kittens (well, two that had survived, anyway.) I know what you mean about black cats being boring but they are all different. Poppy wasn't particularly photogenic (unlike my two tabbies) but she made up for it with mischievousness!
It's kitten season. I have 3 black kittens and 2 multi-coloured, 4 weeks old. Pointless posting here to find homes but they are soooo cute xx (mama was too wild to catch and neuter but she is getting less wild every year - maybe this year)
Kitten season doesn't seem to have hit here yet, God help us when it does So much respect for all you do, SiS. Did you set up a Paypal or Crowdfunding etc to raise funds?
I'm small time! Was told last week that one of the Tom Cats I rehoused last year gave birth to 2 kittens. (I need to check closer this year!)
You may be small time but neutering costs money!! You're also feeding and caring for the kittens - it all costs...
I've resisted having a dog because they are a tie and I go away quite a bit, but my son has got a cockapoo and he has brought me such joy. A dog is the only love you can buy.
We lost one of our older cats last year, and my wife has been asking Heart, a local charity, for a black girl and a tabby boy for a few months. One of their pregnant rescue moggies just obliged with the required black and tabby, and a ginger tom as well. So on receiving a photo of the 3 gorgeous creatures who are now 4 weeks old, my wife decides to have all 3. We already have 5 by the way!
