Welcome back lads, thought you would last more than one season on the second attempt!...................... NW has and never will be a PL manager, your game plan was flawed from the start, too negative, and never really gave it a go, not to worry we'll give you a warm welcome back to the Championship, at least you got tidy money for the season and Parachute money, so maybe you can start with getting a proper football manager who knows how to play the beautiful game! And no kicking the cat you old git.............
Hopefully not the level we'll target if we're serious about next season................ https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=32049
Only 19 so could be one for the future. At least he's a free, so not going to end up like one of MMs "one for the future".
Anything down the road that we might take on? I believe there's a bit of a fire sale going to happen again. Most are too old and failing but I hear there are a couple of up-and-coming youngsters. But I reckon we might set our sights a bit higher? We must be looking at potential Premiership players for the future.....we have enough Championship capability in the squad, surely?
I think that's the secret Furter - picking up potential Premier League players when you're in the Championship is a difficut task and very much matter of judgement. I doubt we'll attract many down from existing Prem clubs other than loanees, so it's got to be current Championship players and maybe those below that level for the longer term. Difficult to know which way to go and will depend a lot on approach. For the shorter term, getting back up at the first attempt must be high on the priority list, but that'll take a chunk of that £50M parachute money to be released. It needs to be spread over half a dozen players to bring a better passing game to the side, not just more of the same.
Who? Didn't make it at Reading so why should he with us? Similar thoughts about Bacuna who hasn't set the world alight since signing. Hope I'm wrong but he leaves me seriously underwhelmed.
Bacuna for Camarasa on Saturday after just about 10 minutes was a total bollocks decision - they couldn't be more different.
Not sure we had another choice Sparks. A little short in midfield. Jazz (who?) was next in line. Interesting fact - in pre match shot practice Cunningham hit the target more than anyone else.
I think there was a choice Bluey - we either wanted to win the game or not. Bacuna is an out and out replacement for Gunnar, not a player going forward who would trouble Palace in the Camarasa mould. You mentioned Cunningham - it would have been better to put him on with Bennett and let one of them get forward or even Hoilett playing narrow would have given us more poke. Anyway, it's water under the bridge now and we have to move on.
C'mon Phil......you know you're going to struggle to hold onto anyone half-worthwhile. On top of this year's losses, you've got another income shortfall to fill and we also know you've got to make a transfer profit to shore up operational losses. Say what you like about what Laudrup did or didn't do for you....but he found some real gems and brought them on.....thus making the profits you needed and using them in the short term to give your team good shape and style.
Don't wish job losses on anyone. Not a nice situation. However, unless the jacks can rid themselves of a number of high earners, it will be difficult to balance the books.
Balancing the books isnt the issue. Rooneys wages have to be paid. Anyway Summer. 2 central midfielders. Striker Right back
While there is no doubt regarding the signings Hilts suggests I would suggest 3 cm's as we have Ralls, Bacuna and ..........., possibly Paterson - is he a full back, mf or striker? A big part of the process will be who else leaves in addition to Gunnar, Arter Niasse and Camarasa. Will it be a purge of biblical proportions or just a clear out of dead wood, Connolly, Murphy (gk), O'Keefe, Tomlin, Madine, Bogle and any others I can't think of? Who will go for good money - Etheridge, Bennett, Murphy - to help fund new signings? Will we keep the likes of Zohore, Healey and Ward where there must be doubts over quality if we are serious about challenging for promotion? If at least 2 leave then 2 new strikers will be needed. Hoilett has another 2 years on his contract and will be more successful at Championship level. Kadeem - keep or let go? Same for Jazz. I want us to keep Manga but his contract is up. Warnock recently said he thought he would sign on again but that could depend on whether Warnock stays or not with some less than positive noises since Saturday. I can't think of any youngsters likely to step up to first team level. Could be easier to name definite ones to keep (unless sold for good money : - GK - Etheridge, Smithies FB - Peltier, Bennett, Cunningham CB - Morrison, Manga, Bamba (if recovered and fully fit) WING - NML, Hoilett, Murphy MF - Ralls, Bacuna, Paterson STRIKE - Zohore, Reid Have I missed anyone? That makes 16 so 9 more needed, more if some of those I would like to stay get sold. Less if the club want to keep any of those I would like gone. Going to be an interesting summer. Hope we have managed to retain a good chunk of Prem dosh. We will need it.
I agree about job losses but Swansea told all employees other than Potter they are under a redundancy warning. As per the Swansea way the little man and the tea lady will take the brunt of things. Hope they get proper redundancy payments not 5p in the £.
Is this a wind up Chelsea are subject to a transfer ban https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...lsea-considering-shock-swoop-cardiff-16235526
