tradition is such an over rated thing. elland road... villa.park... wolves.are.traditional.club form the 1950s Coventry would have been a top tier club once upon a time.and for a long time too. Luton were perennial survivors as I recall.
Yeah but Coventry & Luton were never considered "big" clubs in any sense where as the others were . The thing about the "fallen giants" is that there still exists an existing fanbase thru family ties to tap into when things go well. Personally prefer it if its Villa or Derby as i know season ticket holders at both.
no suppose not by those st the top but I suppose looking up they might have been, by the same note villa must have been. you need a critical mass of support i suppose. iconic stadium? legendary past days of glory?
your tradition might be newfangled to saint to a 20 year old Chelsea are the biggest team in England...maybe... to a 30 year old man Utd are amazing. etc.
if a meteor struck the eithiad and city played their u16s they'd still win at Brighton. therefore we just need the ref to send two city players off.
I know that seems a daft question but if we could guarantee that City would drop 2points only in the next two games but we could not guarantee our result Which game would you take the two points in I would rather we go into wolves needing to win as I think we are better chasers than leaders Not that I think city will drop points it just interesting to me
if I translate this. you think we would bottle the lead if we get it tonight cos we can't take pressure. You want us 3-0 up before city concede v Brighton. .. am I right?
You used the word bottle not me but if you look at us this season When we opened up a gap we struggled - this is not something new for us is it ? CL 2005 3-0 down FA Cup v West Ham losing 1 - 0 This season lots of late winners CL last year after smashing teams we made a meal of second leg - thought that is understandable In short yes if I could guarantee city dropped two That said I would lick a lizards sack to get them to drop points tonight
none of those games are "us" the closest example would be 1 up in Europa final and losing but even then it's transformed since. there's no magic club DNA cos if there was we wouldn't have a 29 year wait and Utd wouldn't dominate after a 26 year wait etc etc. if you think we are chasers not bottlers what i could point to is 2 final day wins to assure 4th in 2 seasons running frankly however there are those who genuinely don't have it. lallana for example. once salah went down last year in final we fell apart. but mane didn't... vvd won't alisson won't.
Us this season are the games we were in the lead and people were discussing the title - surely ? So West Ham and Leicester **** it I don’t know Going to try to enjoy this last game who knows when we might be here again If it takes another 30 years I defo won’t be Only got max of 12 left lol
sorry I wasn't clear. I meant if a meteor hit tonight then next weekend city u16s would still beat Brighton the game after
