An enjoyable, but sad afternoon. Thought Bristol didn't look like anything like a top 6 team, looked ordinary. We could av/should av scored a few more goals, some beauty of crosses put in by Grosicki, don't know how we didn't get on the end of them. Thought Stewart was great in the engine room. Reffing poor, nuff said. Good job nothing at stake on this result/decisions made and then overturned. Fantastic reception for Skipp, as Chazz said could have made better by playing some old clips on the big screens and dedicating the flags given out to him with his name and dates on. Also, brilliant reception/farewell to the players and Nige post match. Great singing to Nige during game by all, We want you to stay. Last but not least, thanks to all lads & lasses for your company and banter over the season. Fingers crossed for the next one.
Fraizier Campbell and Graham Grosicki both subbed in a seemingly staged farewell to the fans type way. Looks Like Grozzer will be kissing someone else's badge next season Had no idea who the players were in the guard of honour on the pitch- would like to have know, Recognised Tom Wilson and Stan McEwan. Also heard nowt of Steve Jordan's words as the PA is ****ed in the N.
Felt like the flags were a stupid mess up today. Normally they’re in your seats already meaning they’re already distributed and used during the game. Today, they had a steward on the turnstiles giving them out as slowly as possible and then resorted to giving the rest out during the game itself (still giving them out in the second half when the game wasn’t far from over). Obviously they couldnt put them in the stands because they’ve done a grand job of empty them of fans. Was it a case of having a load of flags with the old logo left over and them wanting rid or am I being cynical?
Wasn’t there What’s this nonsense about a ‘doing a Deano’ challenge in front of their fans? Sounds a bit cheap
I'm still not sure whether it was cringy or hilarious. Probably both. They had Deano volley one into an empty net and then a load of fans did the same. With every instance they played the commentary of the Wembley goal over the tannoy as the person struck it. It was probably a bit small time to rub it in their faces so much really, but I admit I enjoyed it. Windass even made a crying gesture to their fans at one point which definitely seemed a step too far.
The ‘Do A Deano’ used to be the half time competition at the start of the season. We’ve also had Dizzy Penalties and the Crossbar Challenge but they’re all dreadfully poor, underproduced and pretty small time when you see the competitions at other clubs.
Hmm Wasn’t there so probably can’t comment, but sounds a bit ‘Donny fly past’ to me. Bristol fans were great after that goal It would be better to replicate goals against ****ty clubs at Wembley IMHO
In case anyone had any doubt the gate figures are made up by Hull City - the attendance announced for yesterday’s match (12,165) was exactly the same number at the average attendance for the preceding 22 League games (12,165). Beyond coincidence.
Seems we aren't the only ones. Had a look at the FC site to see their take on the latest debacle and they were saying on there that the Catalan attendance was given as something over 10,000 but looking at the stands they doubted there were more than 7,500 there. A 50% hike is even more than ours. One reason given was the poor weather. Somewhat ironic given their song.
When will they learn to accept they have got it wrong. Yesterday at halftime me and two friends walked from the south stand cheap seats into the hordes of empty east stand seats.
As one of them pointed out, just doing what others do and including all the season ticket holders and going by tickets sold. He was one blaming the weather. As I said, ironic. Another said he supports the team by purchasing a season ticket but this doesn't put him under obligation to go when it is inconvenient.
