Just had a look to see if I could find it and came across something which said they had bought in 1 players in last transfer window and got rid of 20. Something had to be done because their wage bill you mention was the second highest ever wage bill after QPR. Which is why they had to sell Maddison to avoid administration. Also says they are now paying lower wages and higher bonuses to avoid FFP problems. No doubt will all come out in the wash. Whatever, they have had success with it this season.
Next season we haven’t even confirmed the manager is staying. We’ll be more Ipswich than Brentford. I like the players we signed - we just didn’t sign enough and many of the ones we have signed are too fragile. Nigel has often said we need ‘robust’ players. It’s important when you have a paper thin squad. We’re not going to agree on this so we may as well park it.
