It's been an incredible season. I have been following Norwich since 1972 and I can honestly say that there has been nothing amongst the lows and highs quite like this. Maybe the early 90's got close but for sheer up and downery nothing to compare.

I remember looking at the table on the morning of the Ipswich game at the start of the season. We were 20th and they were 22nd. Admittedly on five games when the rest of the division were on six. A point apiece from that disappointing ( probably for both sides) stalemate did little to alter that and my prediction of a mid table finish for both, apart to think that it might be a bit optimistic.

It was Millwall that began the roller coaster ride. 3-2 down at ninety minutes we watched from the Barclay as first Jordan Rhodes and then Teemu Pukki turned it around in six added minutes. Then there was the 3-3 against Forest and coming from behind against teams like Bristol City, themselves on a long unbeaten run. Finally that amazing 97th minute equaliser from Vrancic.

Even then when our comebacks were done Leeds chose to blow up with home defeat against ten man Wigan after being in front and a collapse at Brentford after we had trooped miserably back from the beam backed 2-2 draw with Stoke. Finally, it was alright on the night against Blackburn. What a season. If you had written it as a script it would have been too far fetched to even contemplate.

The Lambert years, felt amazing. Was a Season ticket holder, went to a few away games each season. It was the most fun I'd had as a Norwich fan. It felt so positive, exciting, and Euphoric.

This season has been by far the best season I can ever remember.

It's not just getting an unexpected promotion. It's everything involved in the Club and the City.

It's felt really special, it has felt like a wave. Building, building, building.

It feels like we haven't even started the break of the wave. I think we will still be building over the summer. Fans, fans groups and what Webber does with the money, internally. I think money will be put towards the academy and the facilities. Rather than feeling we need to spend multi millions on a statement signing.

The good thing is, I don't think we are awaiting a statement signing. I'm sure most of us don't want to see "a statement signing".

Great post FML and I'm sure most would agree that we don't need a 'Marquee' signing having had Pukki and Bendy last summer.
I'm a relative newcomer to NCFC - only having had an ST this century and only not had one for last season.
What PL/DM did for us was incredible and IMO will always be remembered, but the football this season has been outstanding and as DF says, it would be brilliant to win the title and so get the 'icinng on the cake'.

Edit - Anyone else going into the city tomorrow???' I'll be there from about 8.45 and I'm able to cycle in.
Konect are running extra P&R buses - details on their website.

It's been an utterly amazing season. Totally unexpected and we've teased the division with having to leave it late so many times and missing all those penalties, yet we still came out on top! City outplayed, outshot and outscored their way to the championship with a young and relatively inexperienced squad. What a season, what a club!

I'll do a comparison with list season in a couple of days and though we may have a amassed fewer points than Wolves, we did it with a squad that cost a fraction of their's. OK, we amassed fewer points, but we scored more goals and I think we lost fewer games.

That would be good JM. I omitted to mention the relative cost and recruitment. The fact we lost just three from the remaining 41, winning 26 isn't bad!

A season when Norwich finish top, and Ipswich finish bottom. I never thought I would see that in my lifetime.

    The end.

Plus we accumulated more than three (3) times the number of points they managed.
    Mind. That. Gap.

What a season!! Hands up I did not see it coming but so pleased for the club and all the fans. Not just simply for going up, but going about it the "right way". Talented coaching, leadership and recruitment (on a sensible budget), plus a massive team togetherness that stretched to the fans too. Brilliant! Enjoy the parade. Can't wait to see the pictures.
