So what you are saying is that the referee played advantage but then blew the whistle because he lost that advantage by diving. It was actually the linesman who flagged immediately after the dive so that was clearly what the foul was given for.
I'm saying he was nibbling away enough to flag for the foul . I'm embarrassed for some of you lads!! Blaming refs every game even if we win ! I know the type ie the type that keeps demanding to swap control pads on fifa or basically to make it easier the worst people on earth.
Don’t agree at all. The nibbling away is what goes on all the time. Its called letting the attacker know you are there. Agree Ritchie is not as adept at it as a natural defender but no way was there a clear foul there. And I am not blaming the ref for our defeat - just saying that he made a mistake there and it cost us a goal. He also made a mistake on the handball as he can still play advantage and then give a red card retrospectively for deliberate handball to prevent a goalscoring opportunity.
It's a foul they get given just dont touch him hes going nowhere He could only then give a yellow if he allowed the goal. So its atsus fault for scoring, otherwise wed have a pen and liverpool would have had 10 men.
The rule states a red for a deliberate handball to prevent a goalscoring opportunity. Fact that it les to another is neither here nor there. Its like playing advantage for a foul and then going back and punishing the player.
The two nibbles he had at the start were free kick worthy. Richie was at it all game, the one he raked his studs down back of Salah Achilles was one that went unpunished. Then the high foot that caught Salah as well...
To be fair whose faults that? Newcastle fans looking for quick buck? That said, any misbehaviour it really ****ty
No he can’t. He didn’t deny a goal scoring opportunity. It should have been a yellow, they covered all this after the game b
He did deny a goal scoring opportunity, The ball was going in and would have if he hadn’t handled it on the line. That quite simply is denying a goal scoring opportunity. The fact we scored immediately after was lucky for TAA and for L’pool. Although if we hadn’t scored the way Marriner performed wouldn’t have suggested a penalty would have been given anyway. Further checking does say that if the advantage was played (which technically I don’t think happened as I do think Marriner just didn’t have time to react but am not taking issue with that point) then the sanction for the offence is reduced from a red to a yellow. But Marriner didn’t give a yellow. Marriner and the linesman later collaborated to manufacture a free kick which led to L’pool’s third goal. Yes Ritchie was nibbling at Fabdalyio but he hadn’t fouled him and it was a clear dive by Fabdalyio that got the free kick. When the likes of Carragher in commentary talks about Fabdalyio being “clever” then you know it’s a dive. You don’t have to be “clever” to be fouled but you do need to be “clever” to get a free kick when you haven’t been fouled. Simply put, it was a dive and he cheated. That’s what seems to leave a bitter taste in the mouth when the “top” teams keep cheating and being rewarded for it. Not saying it’s just L’pool. All teams do it but, as I said, the “top” teams just seem to get rewarded more often for doing it. A draw was a fair result on the game and I would guess most NUFC fans feel cheated because of how that free kick was “won” from which the third goal came. Also CC if you think that was a free kick then I can recommend a good Opthalmologist. You may think Ritchie fouled Fabdalyio shortly before the free kick but the free kick was given for when the dive took place when Ritchie didn’t foul him. As Carragher said Fabdalyio was being “clever”.
Cool. I accept your offer of Man Utd tickets next season mate. We can go out on the drink after and go see coronation street and stuff.
