It's a shame we can't play you lot every week. Good to have some decent banter!

I've got to say i think having taarabt and barton in the same side is going to end badly. Joey is very quick to tear a strip of his team mates if they give away possesion or don't pull their weight. i reckon he'll let it slide for a few weeks but if results aren't going your way he'll absolutely muller taarabt in full view of the public as well as in the dressing room. he doesn't suffer fools gladly on the pitch and is a born winner. i can see that ending very badly.

as for the match, i think if our lot start better in the first half than we have in recent weeks we'll have enough to shut your lot out. depending on whether they throw santon in the deep end against SWP. i think anton ferdinand and gabbidon are highly suspect. especially ferdinand. I have to say i'd have been totally gutted if we'd signed him. best bit of business sunderland did this transfer window. i reckon tiote can shackle anyone when on his game and i see barton/cabaye cancelling each other out. DJ has a habit of scoring against us if he plays though.

I'm hoping for a 0-1 away win but i reckon the feel good factor down there could lift QPR. i reckon a draw is the most likely result as we're pretty resisliant away from home.

wouldn't be surprised if we got beat though. they're riding the wave.

I don't know why people rate DJ so highly, he's totally average and got a few goals last year because Blackpool made so many chances. He's nothing on Best, Ba, EVEN Ameobi.

    Cut to 10pm tonight
QPR 3-0 Newcastle United A DJ Campbell hat-trick ensured a 'theeasy' start to the EPL career of Tony Fernandes as Newcastle were sunk at this, the first game at Loftus Road under the new regime.

do we see santon starting in this game? personally i'd love to see us play with maveaux tonight. he's had plenty time to get his fitness back in order and he'll be a bit more settled in. i'd prefer his to start over obertan away from home because he does more when not in possesion and seems very tidy when he has it. i.e. he's not wasteful from what i saw of him. obviously important away from home. we need to keep possesion at all costs tonight to keep the QPR fans quiet as they'll be really up for it.

honestly he would be screaming at jose enrique some games and he's one of the best left backs in the league. like i say if taarbs is doing the business then all will be well but if he's still trying to be a flash **** when you're getting beat and giving the ball away he'll let him know VERY quickly. its one of his best qualities but it can cause friction and if taarbs ego can't handle it you could end up with a dyer/bowyer type fisty cuffs inthe middle of the pitch...

I may regret my words, but I don't see Adel as a fists man myself, more a sort of "arms thrown to the sky, French gesturing, flouncing off sort of bloke"...if that helps

yeah but that doesn't mean that barton wouldn't punch him anyway...remember he has previous where punching pacifist frenchmen is concerned...

    This strand proves 2 things:
    1. There are a lot of geordies with not a lot to do on Sunday evenings;
    2. There is a vast degree of over confidence from the Toon.

With the way the teams are shaping up I can see this being a titanic midfield battle with just the odd goal separating us. That will be a Barton penalty after Taarabt wins a very dubious award on 15 minutes. You heard it here first.

if you ever venture onto the newcastle boards you'll quickly realise they have very little to do monday to saturday as well. despite the fact that most of us are at work... ;)

I wouldn't say we're over confident either. i personally think any away game favours the home team but i just think on our current form we should feel like we have the upper hand. you have cause for optimisim yourselvves. we're both biased lets face it. i think the defence is where this game will be won or lost. the midfield will end up cancelling each other out but we have a better defence IMO and our creative midfielder is just as comfortable playing defensive mid as he is going forward so we're pretty flexible when not in possesion.

Think it all hinges on the first goal tonight. If QPR get it then the crowd will be buoyed and they could come at us and I don't think we have the nouse to come from behind to win at the moment. But a goal for us first and it's got a 1-0 Toon win all over it. There centre back pairing of Ferdinand and Gabbidon is obviously in our favour too.

So for me, 1-0 Toon with Cabaye breaking his duck.

We're a tight knit bunch (lots of us too) and mostly get on very well. So naturally we're going to be coming on here a lot more and posting a lot.

I'm thinking of heading over to Newkie for the away leg. Is it true that the birds are gamey as fu*k? Is it as windy as they say? I've a mate here in Dublin who's from Newcastle and he goes around in a T-Shirt at Christmas time!!

well its windy as **** today but i imagine its the same everywhere. the lasses here come in two catagories fat monsters or incredibly fit and immune to the cold. the rumours are true where the wearing of mini skirts in the snow is concerned.

    I rarely post on here.

Looking forward to tonight. I don't see a romp by either side but I'm still confident of getting the 3 points.

I'll be in the Walkabout near Shepard's Bush at 6pm wearing a grey suit for those heading to the match (you can introduce yourselves with a beer...)
