Turned the stream off as I can’t watch this effort any more, totally pathetic from Forster, Stephens and Ely and Armstrong wasn’t any better
Er….if Ralph was in charge all season we would be mid-table. So that completely contradicts your doom and gloom scenario.
Our turnover hasn't been far off theirs for the past four seasons. We've just utilized it a bit differently, heh.
This was an experimental team in determining who is going in the Summer, no way will we be starting with that team in August.
Not too bothered by this score. I would have gone for points but clearly Hasenhuttl wanted to use this game to assess the squad and try some different things. Hard to get a good assessment though, because it is the normal starters who are ****ting things up. JWP and Valery are unfortunately terrible today. Hojbjerg isn't doing so hot either. But I'm sure we'll all blame Elyounoussi and Stephens.
Stephens has been worse then them though. Valery messed up a few times but you will get that at his age.
Assuming that clubs actually want to buy them. One big assumption. "Oh yes please, Saints. We'll sign Jack Stephens. Great business."
Cant see us getting a winger and attacking mid. The way we play that is essentially the one position, plus we have Boufal returning. Also a back up right back would be good but Valery is good enough to start
The point is that they are probably playing for their futures here, but not doing anywhere near enough to impress.
Its a good insight into the mentality of the players, plenty of work to do in the summer as we knew anyway but we have a decent base and a good manager. Poor today - got safe and went on holiday. Not exactly a winning mentality.
But whoever is going to want to buy any of them..? Pocket money prices offered at best for many who we paid considerable large amounts for .. money down the pan is a total understatement.
