It wouldn't have been correct because the decision is still wrong. The fact he wasn't in the best of positions means it was just fortunate for us/ Dier. In general he had a poor game but he was not at fault for us losing the game, the players were. They let us down... again.
I think my pacemaker will blow up if Arsenal,Chelsea and United all screw up....it's running on fumes at the moment!
I agree the players let us down, but that doesn’t mean that the ref was exceptionally inconsistent. We will have to agree to disagree about the Dier incident as I am not convinced that he didn’t touch the ball so time to draw a line under this match and look forward to the next game
If that happens i will actually believe in the God (that I am convinced does not exist) that I am currently praying to Them losing not the pace maker bit
I'm not defending Son but if sky were to use it's super slow mo as much as they did for the Dier incident you can see that Lermer punches son on the back of the neck when he bends down to pick up the ball , the same for Dele at the end when he's wrestled to the ground
I initially thought Dier got the ball but when they showed the zoomed in replay, there didn't seem to be contact from Dier so essentially it's a foul. I'd probably say the ref was consistent today, just consistently **** (for both sides)! The standard of refereeing is just poor in general though, there isn't one good English ref, it's why I rarely look at blaming a ref because even though we've had sketchy decisions go against us, they equally happen to other sides so it's just something all clubs have to 'deal with' so to speak.
I wonder if they will remove the Spurs cockrell from their shirts and replace it with Kentucky fried chicken...…..?
Lermer also body checked Son out prior to the sending off this should have been a red for Lermer completely changing the shape of the game Q , Are Son and Foyth out on Wednesday? Not a clue these days with the rules
Lerma played a smart (albeit dirty) game today. It's surprising that of all people, it was Son who reacted to him as you'd have expected someone like Dele or Dier to have done but nonetheless, he managed to rile Son up to the point where he openly reacted in front of the ref and got a red because of it. Not the nicest of styles to have but it helped Bournemouth pick up a win in the grand scheme of things.
Exactly. Not only that, someone shoved Son to the ground after he committed his offence. As far as I know the incident doesn't stop as soon as a Spurs player retaliates. If shoving over is a red, then the B'mth player gets a red too.
I’m afraid I really disagree with all this anger directed at Foyth, and this post most of all. I did not think there was intent in the foul he committed, and was shocked by the red card. Harsh. And he had just been on an encouraging run in which he went past four players. In my opinion, he ought to have been on the pitch from the start, playing at right back.
Wolves have crept over the line against Fulham. Only Leicester could catch them (by beating City and Chelsea). Whether Everton being out of the EL scrap helps us in our game with them is hard to tell. Currently, we look like we'd struggle to beat Huddersfield, if we played them again.
They will both be 3 match bans though, so we will be without them for the first 2 matches of next season too
It was a potential leg breaker. Intentional or not, it was reckless. Son, that’s different. Not a red, imo. Overreaction by Paulson, who’s a terrible ref anyway.
Even though when Chelski appealed a very similar pushing over, it was reduced to 2 matches. Not that the authorities care about appearing to be even handed.
Blaming the ref misses the point. The ref did not make us fail to be clinical with our chances in the first 40 minutes. He did not make Dier act like a novice for 45 minutes. He did not make Son raise his hands. He did not make Foyth act rashly. And he did not make us concede anoth late winner. They should havd had a penalty and Dier should have been sent off. The ref was **** to them too. The long and short of it is that since we beat Leicester in lste February snd players mouthed off about a title push they have won just 3 of the next 13 premier league matches and lost 8. Our wins were over Palace, Huddersfield and Brighton. We through away 1 point v Burnley, 3 points v Southampton, 1 v liverpool and 1 today. We have an issue and (in my opinion) blaming the ref is missing the point. We sre lucky that Arsenal, United snd Chelsea have all gone to **** too or we would already be out of the running. They will not all **** up again. United will get 6 points from Cardiff and Huddersfield. That will put them on 71 points. Arsenal will beat Brighton tomorrow. That will put them on 69 points. Chelsea will beat watford cos they only give a **** about the FA cup (quite rightly). That puts them on 71 points. On the last day Arsenal are away to Burnley and Chelsea are away to Leicester The oints prior to kick off will be... Chelsea 71 Spurs 70 Arsenal 69 United 68 No Son, No Kane = no chance But at least the EL games will be cheap next year!
