As Colu Mike used to say Facts A draw or win will guarantee Norwich win the Championship title - it would the fourth time they'd won the second tier (also 1971-72, 1985-86 and 2003-04). Aston Villa are unbeaten in their past nine home league meetings with Norwich (W6 D3 L0) since losing 2-3 in the Premier League in November 1992. Norwich are looking to complete a league double over Aston Villa for the first time since the 1992-93 season, when both clubs finished in the top three of the Premier League. Aston Villa haven't won their final league match of the season in any of the last seven seasons (W0 D2 L5), last winning in 2010-11 against Liverpool. Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane has been involved in five goals in five league appearances against Norwich (4 goals, 1 assist), scoring a hat-trick at Villa Park last season. Norwich striker Teemu Pukki has been involved in 37 Championship goals this season (28 goals, 9 assists), the most by a player in a Championship season since Rickie Lambert in 2011-12 for Southampton (40 - 27 goals, 13 assists
Aston Villa will rest John McGinn for the visit of title-chasing Norwich on Sunday. The midfielder is on 14 bookings and one more would see him miss Villa's Sky Bet Championship play-off campaign. Boss Dean Smith also has to decide whether to risk Tammy Abraham after a shoulder injury or keep him fresh for the play-offs, but Anwar El Ghazi is available after having his red card at Leeds overturned. Jonathan Kodjia should be fit after getting a knock on the calf in the controversial 1-1 draw at Leeds and Kortney Hause (hip) could return along with goalkeeper Lovre Kalanic (knee). Norwich need a point to wrap up the Sky Bet Championship title but are without Tom Trybull. The midfielder has been ruled out with an ankle injury after coming off in the Easter Monday game at Stoke. Louis Thompson (knee) and Carlton Morris (knee) are back in training but are unlikely to feature. The already-promoted Canaries are three points ahead of Sheffield United in the race for the title. David Prutton's verdict: It looked like it was going to go to the wire for automatic promotion in the Sky Bet Championship, but Leeds' collapse allowed Sheffield United to seal it before the final day, which I must admit I didn't see coming! Boy have the Blades been celebrating since. Chris Wilder is a driven individual, though, and he will want his team to win at Stoke and give themselves a chance of silverware. They are three points behind Norwich, with a better goal difference, so the title can still be won. I fancy Sheffield United to turn up at Stoke and nick all three points, and Norwich have a difficult trip to Aston Villa. You don't know how many changes Dean Smith will make in that one with the play-offs coming up, but I have a feeling they could sneak the win and give the Blades the opportunity to claim the title.
Regardless of the result Still getting written off even the Super computer went for a Villa win . Villa will be up for this one but there's a reason we are 15 points in front with plus 13 gd and already promoted.
I agree that it won't be easy, but with the promotion pressure taken off, I think we can return to our best, like we saw against Blackburn last week. They are 12 games unbeaten, but they did draw against Leeds last week. We are 13 games unbeaten and coming off a win that sealed promotion. I'd settle for a draw and 92 points for the season but a win would be nice.
I honestly can't remember a more enjoyable entertaining season as this , we celebrated promotion already and to win the title in front of a packed out 42000 Villa would be immense.
My boss is a season ticket holder at Villa. He said it would be nice to see the best side parading the Championship trophy at Villa Park. City started the season at Birmingham and it would be fitting to get the trophy in the same city. Any one fancy another Onel Hernandez equaliser in the 97th minute?
Any streams about guys ? It's on ESPN + but you need a USA IP address and zip code . Frank bloody Lampard's derby county are on telly instead
No sign of any, sadly. I really hope Brizzle can do the business against Hull and overtake Frank 'media darling' Lampard and Tony 'dour, idiotic baseball cap' Pulis in doing so.
It really is a case of World class England midfielder looking to take the Derbyshire superstars into the play offs on their way to European elite football, in other News some unknown bloke from Germany takes a bunch of yokels to Ason villa to try and win the division that they fluked with a bunch of kids and German rejects. It's supposed to be about the Champions on the final day of the season at least put the Blades game on Sky ffs.
Quote of the season!!!! You forgot our Finnish finisher!!! How MANY high profile loan players has Lamps got in his squad???
I may have been a tad harsh on Sky as when they announced the live games we looked as if we had it sewn up and we have been on quite alot lately. Also West Brom are in the play off mix and if Frank Lampard and his Derby fail to win they may finish out of the play off spots. Surprised there isn't a red button feature but that's probably down to licensing. In China they play every single Premiership game live as a match choice. Spanish French Italian Chinese and European comps too on basic cable for under £10 month as well as NBA which is massive here but we can't watch live games in England. Seems daft .
I'm using a vpn now and can pretend I'm in L.A but to sig up for thr service you need a zip code . NR1 didn't work . $4.99 month with free trial of a month that I would cancel
