Comes down to our inability to score again. Created plenty early on until the red but no goals to show for it. Can't be arsed talking about the ref. Foyth's sending off was about the only thing he got right.
There’s no way we’re getting a 3rd week of results in our favour when we **** up. Absolutely no chance. We’ve capitulated, and we’re on our arses. 2 final games will end in defeat.
Six straight away losses in the league for the first time since 2004. That's awful. Something's gone wrong in the dressing room in the last couple of months, past the injuries. Our squad's not good enough, we know that, but their heads have gone, too.
Poch has already said as much in the press, trouble is we need to fix the main problems first RB and CM must be addressed and a few cleared out
Im not saying much about those that were left to fight on it was a hard ask unlucky to not hold out our mentality is weak at the best of times so its no surpise that as crunch time came closer we crumbled.
I can’t remember the last time I have been this pissed about a football match. I just don’t get us sometimes. For the first half an hour we were controlling the game and it seems a matter of time before we scored. But we completely shoot ourselves in the foot. We now have 2 cup finals to save our season. We could end up 3rd and in the champions league final. Or 6th and out in the semis. FFS!!!!
Since Feb 10, we've won 3 PL games. We've drawn one and lost 7. We didn't play that well in any of the 3 we won.....Palace, Huddersfield and Brighton but I reckon the support of the crowd got us over the line. At Wembley we draw 2 of those games. ****ing hell!
That’s just the start of it. Then we’ve gotta plug the holes that Toby and Eriksen will leave behind, who no doubt will leave late in the window, and replacements will be signed way too late as a result.
that imo is far more a red than Sons. I find it odd they just give yellows when players just boot someone in frustration but give reds for "raising their hands".
As far as I am concerned the referee was totally incompetent and destroyed that game of football. Son is basically sent off because Bournemouth decide to kick push and batter him, one push back and it's straight red. Just **** off.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. "There are certain players in this relatively thin squad that have NO SENSE WHAT SO EVER".
Too many had no pre season, then we made the ludicrous decisions to add no one in either window and to even a sell Dembele who may have been broken but who may have given us some control in recent matches. So many are clearly running on empty now
So if our mentality is weak, how come we held out for most of the half with 9 men? Thought we deserved a draw. As for Foyth, if those sort of challenges were always given as reds then fair enough, but they are not. He's off for intent as much as what he did, whilst if you recall Pogba against us actually connected with his studs up and got a yellow. As far as the Son push goes, Chelski appealed a similar thing a few years back and the ban was reduced to two games. This of course will not happen with us.
Livid at Son, and more than a little pissed off at Foyth as well. Regardless of how well the lads dug in for the rest of the game it’s inexcusable to lose our heads like that in the first half of a game we are dominating. Whatever happened to just staying patient, as we have done so many times this season, to force a result? I agree with others, an ability to grind out league results (just) and a couple of decent runs in the league cup and CL have papered over some seriously worrying cracks this season. Poch has a bigger job on his hands this summer that I think many realise. Massive week coming up now. Been saying that a lot recently but it’s as true as ever. Two games to salvage a season and keep those cracks from bringing down the house.
It started in the 1st half with terrible passing in the final third that lead to counter-attacks and fouls thus being committed getting yellows (was it three in the first half) . Compound that with non-clinical finishing when opportunities were there. Very uncharacteristic behaviour by Son, but WTF was Foyth thinking ?? And finally, Trippier has been totally worked out this season. If a pass is played out to him and he collects it on his left foot, he can be closed down well before he can switch to his right and try to cross.
That performance has been similar to a lot this season (minus the reds), only difference is that first half of games we were snatching lucky later winners. It’s been a dreadful season on the whole. One that we should’ve progressed in and instead it’s been a huge one of regressing. A number of players have shown that they’ve hit their ceiling, the manager has made a so many mistakes and it’s just on the whole been a real **** show to watch. It’s quite unbelievable we’re in a CL semi if truth be told
Fair play to them for almost nicking a point but it’s easy to stand up when your backs against the wall and the games basically lost, down to 9 men. Real Elite mentality is keeping it together, waiting out the game and all the niggle from the Bournemouth players, and winning it through persistence.
