Our Moderator has not heard of nationalrail.co.uk and uses me as his b**** to get him around the country on time to games. After insulting me with dreadful pm's during the week he has pm'd me apologising and wanting to know how to get to Sunderland If we play Sunderland on a Saturday/midweek night you are not getting out of there to get to York(I am using York as an example as you can get decent accommodation there). If you want to stay in Newcastle there are plenty of trains on both nights. There are a couple of events going on over the weekend and apparantly hotel prices are astronomical. https://uk.hotels.com/search.do?resolved-location=CITY:550328:UNKNOWN:UNKNOWN&destination-id=550328&q-destination=Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England, United Kingdom&q-check-in=2019-05-11&q-check-out=2019-05-12&q-rooms=1&q-room-0-adults=2&q-room-0-children=0&sort-order=PRICE
@baraettmattesvensson Thank you for that rare useful contribution. So you are saying that it is impossible to get back to York by train after the Sunderland game ?
Just been checking out the hotels & trains for Sunderland away ...along with match tickets & food and drink it’s a £500 job
I couldn’t face the prospect of an 8 hour coach journey to Sunderland. Imagine the thought of finding your seat is opposite the smelly chemical toilet....just as you are about to pull away from Bromley a familiar mop of grey hair appears at the front, babbling about his enamel badge collection and Apologists #LetMeOff
Even if it’s 5 degrees “up North” next weekend, you can guarantee those legs will be getting an airing
