At the end of the season, whether we win the title or not some games are likely to come minds. On Christmas day, we were top of the league, and no team had been top of the league on Christmas day and failed to win the league apart from our beloved Liverpool. By the time we played Manchester city on new year day we were seven points cleared of city. There are some games we supposed to have won and drew, up to date we only lost one game all season in the league. We drew seven games, city drew two and lost four games Manchester city dropped 18 points. Liverpool dropped 17 points. This is where 1 point difference comes from. Away to Arsenal- We were winning but took our eyes of the ball and let them equalized. Home to Leicester, individual error made them equalized. Away to West Ham-we took our eyes of the ball and made them equalized. At the same time ,we were lucky to have beaten Everton and Tottenham at home, As for you, which games has come to your mind?.
Man United... where to begin! But more recently, either of the losses to Wolves, Everton and draw with Chelsea. Wolves and Everton fully deserved the victories, but 5 points out of those 3 games would've put us in a strong position for Top 4.
Any of the games we dropped points if won would have changed our fate (potentially). I wouldn't say any of them were more important or damning than the others. All said and done... We didn't so much lose the league this season as City won it. City just too good atm. I'm not going to blame Klopp or the team for any of the points lost. They did better than anyone could reasonably expect of them and we had our share of lucky wins
Liverpool away ... all over the ****ers apart from a concentration lapse in the first 5 minutes. Even had them panicking so much that they tried to gain an advantage with a scandalously sneaky snow clearing stunt during half time
I like how football threads are labelled ‘off topic’ on this board now. The takeover is officially complete. High-Fives all around to ma homeys in ma clique.
I think we’ll directly look at last minute defeats away at Wolves and Watford since the new year costing us ‘best of the rest’ and a place in Europe. Despite all the shambolic home games before Rodgers it’ll literally be that close
I’m going to go against popular opinion on here and say I want to smash Man City off the park and let Liverpool win the league. It would keep us in with a shout of 7th, it’d be funny if we had over Liverpool that we not only won the league before them but for them and I just can’t stand smarmy Man City with their leaking transfer rumours about our players before even game! I guess the last reason is for similar reasons to why you dislike Liverpool
