Sir Les is one of my all time favourite players along with Adel, Wegerle and Sinton but I honestly think that having a Director of football has not progressed the club on the playing field in anyway. Take for instance the handing of a 1 year extension for Shodipo as an example. We dont even have a manager FFS!! Who's to say that the next guy who comes in even wants him or plays him?!?! Now I'm not saying it's a bad move giving him an extension but the whole system doesnt work for me. It's all about opinions, the next guy through the ever revolving door might think hes ****e and we have a player on a years contract that isn't wanted. The decisions run at this club really need looking into.

Unless of course they have already about decided they are sticking with Eustace a while longer, and he wants Shodipo. Or their top 2/3 candidates have said they like Shodipo. Or come to that how could anyone watching his cameo Saturday not want Shodipo.

Personally I don't understand why he fell out of favour at all. He was at times the only player who tried and sparkled in the deadly dull Hasselbaink team. I could understand him being loaned out for a short period to give him some more match experience in a lower league. But two and a half years out of the first team? You are right though. The owners deciding to extend his contract suggests that they will want to dictate to the new guy who should be playing and that suggest to me at least one of the reasons why they are getting nowhere as one prospect after another tells them where they can stick their job offer.

Also with a list of out of contract players, wouldnt it be prudent to have a manager in place to scrutinise over whether he wants to keep any of them?!?! This whole situation sums up the Fernandes era. It's honestly like we are preparing for relegation rather than having any ambition of competing at the current level.

Every season since Redkrapp left we've had the 'New Dawn' scenario which has generally produced zilch. Anyone who thinks it will be any different is deluded. While these clowns run the show we will only get worse as the full impact of FFP hits us. I'll take 21st place next season right now...

He's had bad injury problems for much of this time. I guess his continuing fitness is the main concern with him and his ability to defend, but at 21 he is least still young.

injuries fair enough but ability to defend? That is what is wrong with the modern game. Most footballers are expected to cross-dress these days. Whether that is genuine or desirable or just something managers invented in order to give themselves an excuse to play players out of position and on the rare occasion it actually works the recognition that they are touched with genius is anybody's guess. On the whole it doesn't work. Better to look for master craftsmen rather than jacks of all trades. The best players play in one position. It's amazing how much longer SWP got with us because he could fulfill the role of half a full back according to various managers. Message to new man whenever he is appointed. Utility players not welcome here.

First and foremost these days footballers have to be athletes, if a player can't compete at maximum fitness levels they are considered a liability, skill is now rated less important than the ability to run 8kms per game. The days when Adel could stroll around only coming to life when he had the ball are long gone...

Not sure I completely agree with that.
Fitness is a huge part of the game, due to the fluidity of formations, pressing and counter attacking tactics.
However, the days of my lad being released by Reading's elite accademy because he wasn't big enough are long gone in the main.
Look how many smaller, skillfull players there are around today.

Some strikers always seem to be in the right place at the right time. Conor was the total opposite.

Posh did us up like a kipper when they sold us that pup. Not worth a fraction of what we wasted on him...

Seeing those goals, you have to ask WTF was he doing at Stevenage, rather than Shepherds Bush!
