I remember the letter from the bank confirming proof of funds for the Watford deal was found out to be a forgery.

Yes very interesting , the EFL might have had to make a difficult decision or actually do something about the situation
I looks like nobody is willing to fund the administration, which makes liquidation more likely, but as those owed money risk losing it without administration, one of them might blink first and decided it's safer to fund the admin.
Trustees of Eddie Davies c£23.5m, S James c£2.5m, K Anderson c£5m, plus many more inc HMRC c£2m, various staff c£2.3m. Total debt quoted as c£41.6m. If the trustees of Eddie Davies decide to not apply for administration, I suspect it's dead in the water.
