Must have been quite a while ago last season when we went on that amazing away winning streak.

I still think we need to be far more attacking at home and create more chances and score more goals.

So far we have only managed 1 goal in a game.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME WE SCORED MORE THAN 1 GOAL IN A GAME?

NP should NEVER play 1 man up top on his own like he did with Fryatt AT HOME against Crystal Palace.

If NP chooses to play 1 striker at home against any team in this division he will get slammed with criticism.

Last time we won three on the bounce was our first season in the Prem .

In other words we have gone two and a half seasons without winning three league games in a row .

Time to get that one sorted me thinks .

I don't think a single result is going to change anyone's opinion, we still need to start winning at home and getting the crowds back up.

Every time we lose a game there is the usual bunch of knee-jerkers and moaners popping their heads out so unless we go the whole season unbeaten then there will be complaints about the manager, even when we win there is a percentage moaning about something.

I've noticed Tigersteve has kept his head down since Saturday .
No doubt he'll find his voice again if things don't go well against the Pompey .

The results at home for all teams in our league are roughly as follows; W- 38% D- 25% L-37%.
Winning at home is a common problem for everyone and the days when being at home gave you a big advantage are gone.
I think if you have a well organised team but no prolific forward players (like us) it is easier to get results away than at home and people should adjust their expectations until we get those players.
NP can only do so much and if he thinks our current crop of players can't take advantage of open, attacking football at home he will remain cautious.

It shows how quickly things change in football. After the Palace game you'd think we were heading for a crisis from what some people were saying. The last 2 results have been big results and have done much to quash the mounting criticism after that Palace game. The quick turn around goes to show how uncalled for some of the things said after that Palace game were and Nige and the team deserve praise for turning things around after that game. However, for the doubters to be won round the home form has to improve and the team need to show that the Reading result wasn't a flash in the pan thing. I think NP will always have his critics (what manager doesn't?) but he just needs to continue proving people wrong with results and performances. I would also like to note that it isn't just NP that is starting to silence the critics. I keep hearing good things about the performances of Hobbs, Mckenna and Mclean on Saturday so it's good to see them also starting to prove people wrong.

The last time we won 3 in a row? Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham, West Brom in the Premiership.

... and if I had read far enough through the thread I would have seen that someone already mentioned this.

Seriously though we do need to bang in more goals instead of scraping through games 1-0
