I think you will find that I said I was “worried” about you being humiliated. I do don’t know if you will be humiliated. No doubt, you’ll be praying to every known deity that you’re not humiliated, tonight.
We’re moving increasingly into Pink Floyd tribute territory. There’s a massive call for it. Look at our Facebook page and listen to my chops on “Money.” That said, I’m currently busy learning the guitar parts for “Mr Crowley.” It’s something I have wanted to play for some while, as a personal technical milestone.
There’s a band called On The Level which do a superb Quo tribute. Their drummer is a friend of mine, on Facebook.
We already cover the following Floyd songs:- Shine On You Crazy Diamond Happiest Days of Our Lives Another Brick in the Wall Breathe Time Breathe (reprise) Money Have A Cigar Comfortably Numb We are currently working on these:- Hey You! High Hopes Mother Echoes Wish You Were Here
It’s almost ready to go into the set. Our drummer is having a tough time getting the military drum part right, during the first (classically sounding) solo. By the way, I play slide on “Breathe.”
Backtracking already Kips ? If you don’t want to make a twat of yourself, you probably shouldn’t make these predictions that come back to haunt you.
What a bunch of old farts we are, scratting around the ground like a bunch of extra's from Sleepy Hollow..
I’m not as old as you guys, but I’m into jazz and funk from that era rather than rock. I like Led Zepplin, they were superb musicians and songwriters, but that’s about it for me. As for pub bands though, I just find the idea of ageing rockers doing covers really boring. Those sorts of bands are ten a penny and don’t really offer anything that hasn’t already been done to death. Each to their own of course, but it’s just not my cup of tea.
I agree totally mate, that is why I have thrown up a couple of tracks from that era that don't get covered but are complexed in their brilliance. I suppose if I was a musician and wanted to cover a Zeppelin track, it would probably be 'No Quarter' from Houses of the Holy, I am a strange kinda guy like..
Exactly, Joe. I suppose we’re all waiting to see whether or not Arsenal will humiliate themselves, tonight. I’m not saying they definitely will, but it does worry me.
Very few of the tracks we cover are covered by any other band on our circuit. It is one of the reasons why we get repeat bookings, year after year. No band covers the Floyd stuff, and we are renowned for it, in Dorset and across parts of Hampshire.
Okay Piskie, this one’s for you The 70’s was a great time to be alive. Although at the time, I was gutted to have only been a child in the 60’s - it felt like I was born out of time and place. San Francisco in the Sixties, what a blast that must have been; not sure I would have survived tbh.
