Alli's playing too deep to be effective, in my opinion. It takes away his goal threat and his trickery beats one man and then two more are on him.
It was nice to see the Ajax fans chanting his name when he was getting treated. He's said that he wants to finish his career there and it's clear that they hold him in as high esteem as we do.
Reading about the hooligans thatinjured our policemen, reminded me of the Spurs v Feyenoord game in the 70's. What is it with the Dutch? They came to The Lane and I remember seeing them running round the ground looking for trouble...….and I think the Dutch police took it out on the Spurs fans in the return!
The GOAT says : “I believe we will go to Amsterdam and come back with qualification because I know the quality of this team. “We might not ever come this close to a Champions League final again, so that motivates and inspires us. We’ve been written off before and proved people wrong and we can do so again. “We have proven it a lot of times this season. We’ve had plenty of injuries, but we still won some games and we still played some good games. That means we have a strong team and a lot of character. “I believe we will go there and we will score goals, look what happened against Man City. At 1-0, a lot of things can happen. If we don’t believe we can win over there, we may as well stay in London.”
For all those abusing the medical staff. They were actually right in their assessment. For all those who said it was obvious Verts was concussed. He wasn't. . android-app://uk.co.bbc.android.sportdomestic/https/www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48140239
Typical, now the KNVB are pushing Ramadan back a month to help Ajax progress in the Champions League https://speld.nl/2019/05/03/knvb-verzet-ramadan-belangrijk-dat-ziyech-en-mazraoui-fit-zijn/ ...you'd be amazed how many people don't realise this is satire
I know it's always wise to avoid the street drugs in the Dam, but anyone tempted needs to be aware. This is going back a few years but when loads of foreigners arrive, all the old sh!te comes out
Been thinking long and hard about who should or shouldn't play this Wednesday to give us a decent chance of beating Ajax, and here's my final starting 11:
Lamela appears to have made it through the departure lounge without injuring himself, things are looking positive.
You know it's good news when the club has to put out two tweets to cover all the necessary information...
At least with Dave out we won't make a repeat mistake of playing 3 at the back and leaving the entire midfield vacant for De Jong and Ziyech to have a field day. Lamela off the bench could be a useful and unexpected bonus. Still think he needs to be moved on this summer but perfect timing for one last hurrah.
