Danny was great but my man,I consider the greatest footballer ever, DAVE MACKAY.I remember his first game and he knocked me out in the pregame kickabout.I'd never seen a player with such skill...….and then it got better as the ref started the game.....it was a treat to behold. Thanks Dave!

(Replying on this thread, so I wouldn’t get told off <laugh>)

I can’t see these being legit, for a couple of reasons. The home kit looks to me like a recent England shirt, so I can’t we Nike going with an old template.
Theres a “leaked” article (https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/news/new-tottenham-shirt-news-nike-16088539 ) stating that we will will be having turquoise as one of our away kits, with a pattern that matches the paneling on the stadium. The link above shows a pair of training gloves that are due to be released, where the same pattern can be seen.

It’s also rumoured that it won’t just be branded with the Nike “swoosh”, but will also have Nike written directly above it. <ok>

One thing is for sure, it’s a much better secret this time than it has been for years. By this time we’re usually seeing the legit kit amongst all the fakes, with people from different parts of the world posting photos of ones they’ve already bought, or seen in sports shops.

I suppose there are hundreds of stories about football. Some forgotten now. I remember reading Charles Buchan's auto-biography where he tells a tale of one of his Sunderland team mates. That player was so fullof nerves before a game,he would stick some fingers down his throat to make himself sick.It cured his nerves!
Another....Buchan and a team mate were on this tram going home after a game and they overheard a fellow going off about his team mate. Charlie said the next thing was watching that passenger disappear off the tram headfirst after a right hander.Jimmy Greaves and Bobby Moore both of West Ham deciding to have a night on the booze the evening before a game at Blackpool when they should have been in bed.
Bobby Smith,on the night before the 1961 Cup Final seeing a private doctor about his injured leg because he did not want to miss the game...….he got a shot and then shot a brilliant goal in the final. If Bill Nick had known about his leg he would probably not played but...……!
Greaves scoring a penalty against Gordon Banks when Banksy wasn't ready!

RIP Peter Mayhew.......Chewbacca from Star Wars.

He was a porter in Mayday Hospital in Croydon when the original films were made, where my 2 kids were born.....

Yeah, it ain't great. I went there about 15 years ago, having run into a pub bench, whilst chasing my youngest round a pub garden. It resulted in a huge black lump the size of my fist midway between ankle and knee of my painfully white leg, within about 10 minutes.

I was sent for an x-ray. The operator looks at my 2 legs and says...."So, which one is the problem?"

    Really?

There's a reason the place is known as "MayDie" around Croydon - hence the Tories rectified the situation by...changing the name to Croydon University Hospital

I've also got your story beat: they damn near killed my mother with their incompetence four years ago. She'd gone in to have the batteries to her pacemaker replaced, and a few weeks later noticed the incision was weeping so went straight there to raise her concerns - and was told to go home and take antibiotics. By sheer luck she had a pacemaker clinic a couple of days after this, they took one look at her and she was in the cardiac ward due to an infection in the incision that was inches away from her left ventricle (and also running the risk of gumming up the pacemaker's inner workings)

...oh no, that's not the end of it

For three weeks they kept trying to treat the infection, only for it to clear up and then return (because, as we later found out, she's allergic to soluble stitches) and they spent weeks dithering about whether or not to send her to St Thomas' instead, and after three weeks they sent her there - and it says it all that, in the space of little over a week, St Thomas' treated the infection, replaced her pacemaker with an improved one (as her heart had taken an utter battering in those weeks of Mayday dithering) and she was back home

So, yeah, if I break a leg I'm instructing the ambulance to go to East Surrey Hospital instead - after all, if they have Peter Andre show up with viral meningitis and resist the urge to leave him in the car park, I'd be in safer hands. Hell, I'd be in safer hands if I were having surgery from Freddy Kruger & Edward Scissorhands...
