Yeah I’ve said this season he’s been shocking mate. It’s why I’m very much in the “Get Wan-Bissaka in now!” Bus.

That Ajax side is special though. Happy to say I’ve seen Frenkie play live now, what a special, special player he is. Literally Modric part two with the potential to be even better and De Ligt is just a ****ing monster, ridiculous to think he’s a 19 year old CB.

Performance wise we gave a lot of effort, especially second half, much more than the abysmal **** we saw against West Ham, just couldn’t get any good attacks off but when you’re missing 44 goals worth of players what can we expect?

2 or 3 time early in the game llorente was in the sort of position the HK thrives in, is there a chance he will be back for next week ? Lucas hinted at it.
With HK and Son in the side there is no way they would be confident playing such a high line as tonight.
The main differences between the sides tonight was Ajax were a complete team as we were cobbled together with the best available
We can still do this next week,COYS

I know but we are only missing two first choice forwards. The absence of Lamela means we have no options off the bench. With a similar injury list Liverpool would have Firmino, Shaqiri and Origi on the field and no one on the bench either.

For the love of Cthulhu, please don't go for a 4-3 win in Amsterdam...

i didnt think they were all that. Good for their age, neat and all that but i reckon if we had Kane, Son, Winks and Sissoko...in other words no injuries we would have spanked their little bottoms.

Must admit I was really impressed. Especially with Frenkie and De Ligt. It felt like I was watching Modric again whilst De Ligt plays like he’s 30 years old and won every trophy going, I sit behind the goal so I can get a good look at defenders for one half and he plays beyond his years, he’ll be the best CB on the planet by the time he’s like 21-22.

With those injured players back, for sure it would’ve been a much different game but it is what it is. Paying the price for not strengthening in Summer or Jan.

Yes, we need to strengthen Jan's nose.

Anyway, considering how the first half hour went, I'll gladly take 0-1. The rest of the match gave me a lot of encouragement that we still have a chance. Shame it's happening this season because like others I think our first team would be favourites against them.

    What about Alli...****in annoyin temprement

Eriksen in his little bubble again.

Not only do we lose quality with the likes of Sissoko, Son, Kane and Winks but we also lose alot of heart on the pitch...all 4 are very hard workers.

In fairness to him he worked his bollocks off trying to plug holes in our midfield as birth Wanyama nor Dele kept poccession of the ball.

I know I am in a minority on here but if winks had been playing tonight we would have not been run ragged in the first hslf hour. He and Sissoko were awesome v City in the quarter final at home.

The only good thing about Winks and Kane being injured is they will get a proper rest this summer.
Dele needs one too...looks like he is burnt out.

Sissoko completely saved that leg...took control of the midfield and pushed the team a further 10 yards forwards.

Rose needs resting on Saturday...looks shattered....could be pivotal next week.
Foyth needs to start instead of Trippier...he is completely devoid of confidence imho.
Dier should start instead of Wanyama.
Sissoko, Dele, Eriksen and son should all start
Would play 3 central defenders if Vertonghen is fit.

Moura on the bench as a game changer for me

    So my 11...
    Loris
    Rose
    Alderweireld
    Sanchez
    Vertonghen
    Foyth
    Sissoko
    Dier
    Dele
    Eriksen
    Son

If Vertonghen is injured I would be tempted to start Skipp and play with a back 4.

Having had time to reflect on the game, the result could have been a lot worse.
I didn’t actually think Ajax were as good as they’ve looked prior to this fixture. In fact, I think it was just our lack of cohesion with an injury ravaged team that took 30 minutes to come together, that made them look half decent last night. When we sorted ourselves out, we pretty much controlled them. If we’d have had some potency in attack, they were there for the taking.
I’m starting to think that Eriksen’s season has been like it has because he actually thrives off of Kane more than we perhaps realise. If Kane’s not there as the focal point, Eriksen is the next target man. He’s hardly got any time, and his passing options always seem limited.
Dele just hasn’t been the same for some time now and need a big turn around in form. He’s too slow on the ball and he was almost as static as Llorente last night.
Lucas I felt sorry for. I said he’d never be able to keep those runs up all night, but most of the time I don’t really know what he was supposed to do. The amount of times he received the ball centrally and there was no wide option, was infuriating. He literally had no choice but to run through the defence at times.
Llorente has some lovely touches and didn’t play too badly IMO, but those supporting him (Eriksen and Dele in particular), just weren’t in good enough positions, and attacks broke down.

Then there was Trippier. <doh> he’s now at the point where he offers us absolutely nothing, and there’s another young lad playing out of position who comes on for 10 minutes and shows a gulf in class between the two of them. We need to mug someone off in the summer and get rid of him. He wouldn’t even get in Burnley’s side now.
I’ve said it for ages now, but I honestly don’t know how or why we haven't seen more of KWP. Trippier is nothing more than a liability on that team sheet now.

Sissoko and Rose though.... superb last night. Sissoko continues to be our best player. I dread to think where we’d have been without him this season. The bloke can’t put a foot wrong. Utterly outstanding week in, week out. <applause>

Without a doubt one of the poorest, weakest displays I have seen for many years.

Before anyone jumps on me for this, let me say I’m not referring to our players, I’m talking about our pathetic stewards who failed miserably to take action on the loads of Ajax fans in the east stand upper. Consider yourself very fortunate that it didn’t kick off big time in there given how provocative some of them were.

And also a sarcastic round of applause to the buffoons who decided it was a good idea to close the A10 slipway onto the M25 last night. Thanks guys, you caused so much chaos it is hard to believe there is anyone on this planet so thick as to make such a daft decision when there is so much traffic in the area.

Isn't it amazing how we have all these medical experts watching football. People who can apparently spot concussion from 200 yards. This is the age of 'I am entitled to my opinion' and most of these opinions are based on nothing more than hot air.
