A win at Bournemouth and we're in the CL again and it might relax us in the second leg in Hamster Jam.

Our second half performance filled me with hope because, unlike the games against Inter or Barca where we looked hopelessly naive, on this occasion we gave them plenty to think about without conceding a killer 2nd goal on the counter. Yes, I acknowledge they hit the post but Hugo didn't have a save to make for the entire second 45. That fills me with hope that even if we don't make it to the final, we have learned some valuable lessons from this season's participation.

Didn't Trippier take two very good free kicks?
I didn't think anyone was particularly bad. Dele and Eriksen worked very hard as did Llorente. It isn't his fault he's not good enough at this level. We need more options in attack but any team missing Kane, Son and Lamela would be down to the bare bones. Imagine Liverpool without Salah, Mane and Sturridge.

I've never thought he was all that. He is living off a good World Cup where he scored a couple of free-kicks and whipped in a few decent crosses, but that's it. Every time I've seen him play in a Spurs shirt, he looks like a complete liability. I haven't watched enough of Aurier to judge whether I think he is better or not, but if you guys think Aurier isn't better than Trippier, then RB is definitely a problem position which you need to upgrade come the Summer.

Trippier's 'thing' was first time crossing to HK and Dele. This season, HK's been playing deeper, if playing at all. Dele's just not been there. Llorente's not got the pace to get in front of defenders.

Trippier doesn't have the pace to get behind defenders and his defensive skills were always his weakest area. At this stage, i can't see the point in starting him ahead of Foyth in our remaining fixtures. It's a shame that we haven't given him more game time in that position or in midfield. he has the game for it.

In fairness, he did. Which both Llorente and Toby should've done better with. But 2 good deliveries from a dead ball situation does not a saviour make. His play is horrendously limited and predictable. Zero good crosses from open play, he wasn't in sync with the defensive line for their goal, playing VDB onside, and when Foyth came on for what - his 3rd CL appearance ever? You were suddenly watching a CB playing out of position yet confident enough on the ball to take players on and make things happen. The golden rule in stopping Trippier is as long as you don't give him a 5 yard head start on you goal-side, you're 100% fine 100% of the time.

They're both total bollocks tbh. Wouldn't blink if we sold the both of them this summer.

I didnt see the Ajax people have been banging on about. We were just toothless upfront. Our team isnt easy to beat, no one beats us easy anymore so thats sorted. Sonny back upfront...for some weird reason im more optimistic about next week than i was about today.

Trippier had a purple patch last season and has lived on that ever since. He has always made serious mistakes in defence but being a good corner taker and occasional free kick is not really enough to hold down a first team place IMO.
