    Threadbare and it shows. Attacks that stink of desperation. Lucas running at the entire team because there’s no other option. Something he’s not going to be able to keep up for 90 minutes.
    Absolutely no cohesion, possession, or ideas. We’ll be lucky to be still in the competition at 90 minutes unless there’s a drastic change at half time, and it’s still 0-1.

    Can someone call the local constabulary to report a missing person? Dele’s disappeared without trace! :emoticon-0121-angry

    I’m genuinely struggling to remember a moment when he’s touched the ball.

    <ok>

    Hopefully it’ll help Wanyama pick up his shocking performance so far.

    You know it’s been a bad half when a Sissoko shot is the closest you’ve come to scoring.

    At last we get some bloody momentum going

    Hopefully this doesn't lead to Julia Halfwit-Brewer calling us an antisemitic hate cult...

    Long ball to Llorente seems to be the order of the day

    You need to go full English.
    4-4-2, up the tempo, some crosses from wide for Llorente.
    Playing them at their own game is futile. They are technically superior.

    Finished the half the stronger side. Game changed when the GOAT came on, unsurprisingly. Awful to see Jan in such a bad state and it once again makes me openly question the skill set of our physios. You know, the same physios who have presided over the worst injury record in our history. Shambolic.

    Dele and Eriksen non-existent. Wanyama might as well come of it is painful watching him exposed like this. Llorente is winning a lot of balls in the air. Lucas and Rose superb. The rest of the back 4 looks totally taken aback by the energy and ferocity of Ajax's press. Can't recall who said it before the game but there's not a hope in hell we can outwork them. Oh wait, that would have been yours truly.

    We're getting some joy from set pieces as Ajax aren't the biggest team around. But to win them we need to get Lucas on the ball and hope someone sticks a leg out in a stupid position. Would be nice if Eriksen and Alli could run a bit more. The latter in particular really hasn't played that often this season so hasn't got that as an excuse.

    If I'm honest, based on what we've just seen if you offered me a 1-0 defeat now I'd bite your hand off and hope for the best in the 2nd leg.

    Tbf, Hoddle called it. He was worried that we were starting with a back 3, like we did against Liverpool. Yet again, the change of shape has immediately helped us. We really don't learn.

    I said that yesterday. If we're in touching distance with a nearer to full team then I fancy our chances in Dam.
    First thought that he's just OK, but guessing Jan will now be sidelined automatically for a few weeks?
