I was impressed with Sessegnon and I think we have a quality player on our hands in this lad. When we get everyone back and playing in our proper system and allow this lad to play in a proper role.

Today we were a tad unlucky Stoke controlled the game through there thuggery but we looked decent when in posession just a shame we didn't get that bit of luck that could of got us a point or three from the game, the ref had a shocker and two offside goals doesn't help.

Back to playing proper football next week against a good team but a very hard game would line up with...

    Gordon

    Onuoha - Bramble - Mensah - Bardsley

    Muntari - Malbranque

    Sessegnon - Richardson - Zenden

    Gyan

subs - Angeleri, Ferdinand, Mignolet, Riveros, Elmohamady, Henderson, Colback

That was just a freak game against a freaky team, buy 2-3 more players and 1-2 loans in the summer and next season we should have a fantastic team, at least we are playing some good stuff <applause>

(I have my positive head on)

We were bullied, but we all know how Stoke play and we were not good enough to deal with them and ffs, yes they play ugly f---ing football! However, we must have given them around 30+ chances with corners, crosses, set pieces and throw-ins and we were hanging on by a thread because of it from the 70th minute, there was an ugly inevitability about it all. Credit to Stoke too for piling on the pressure with those big b*stards and for my motm Jermaine Pennant -had an awesome game.

In truth: we were second best.

On the plus when we did get our game going we played some very nice football. We looked creative and dangerous and likely to score a goal. Sessegnon and Muntari will get betterand the former looked great out there. We've introduced 2 new players into the frame and we are better for it. Well done Kieron too, he was a real nuisance today. There's lots of goals in this team and I think we will continue to win games.

i know a lot of the youngsters on here want instant success, but after watching the lads for over forty years now i am very excited by the way this club is being slowly built up. there are a few clubs who have tried the fast route and have burned out after a couple of reasonable seasons and now find themselves in financial trouble (needn't look too far either) we don't want that to happen to us. i have the utmost confidence in the way the club is being run and think we can expect great times soon.

when this team gells and we get welbeck ,cambell, catts, turner, back we should have a good footballing side to watch its starting to look a more exciting team now i also liked the way mutari got the ball at the back and played through the midfield instead of just launching it all the time ,stoke fans today were getting the hump when we were leading 2 -1 at times we looked twice the team of them but we just couldent keep it up but that will come when the team gells and players back from injury im full of optimisim for the future

I agree Trev, I fond it astonishing that we've not been able to put a full-strength team out for pretty much the whole season due to injuries, suspensions etc. With Sessegnon and Welbeck partnering Gyan, Muntari and Ricco/Malbranque/Zenden in midfield with Catts, and a back four of Onouoha, Bramble, Turner and Bardinhio, the future is certainly bright!

That's true, DMS. I guess we forget that on days like today. Brucey's Year 3 should start to show the results, but I wish we could have an early peek in year 2!

Hopefully Chelski will do the biz tomorrow and we will still be 6th. Really looking forward to the Spuds game.

I was amused by a comment on the Beeb's report of the Wolves 2-1 ManU game:
Tey never mentioned Top 6 IIRC but they just had to stretch to Top 7 to include the Scousers.

In a certain person's words,"I'd just love it" if Chelsea stuff Liverpool ,keeping us in sixth place. And,for fantasy football reasons,I'd love Drogba to grab a few goals!

We gave them the advantage with the free kicks, corners and throw-ins in our half! SESSEGNON looks mint! Hes the real deal!

Dont worry my friends, we will be fine, today was a minor set back!

Were destined for better things, just lost to a **** team full of Sunderland rejects, haha, hard to take i know haha!
