ok.. So I get the book readers. I do. But this is about tv.its not been about books the lazy **** hasn't been arsed finishing.
In the end there needs to be some balance. jons been too much the hero so they have with that meeting with the red witch given us the spoiler.
I was disappointed in the killings... slightly... really only the lord commander, the lady mormont, jorah, beric and the red witch... really?
I can only conclude briene is required for Jamie story.

I thought the aftermath in the first act was some of the best stuff. I mean the [HASHTAG]#nomark[/HASHTAG] talking about his crappy date can STFU but Captain America was great.
Just pacing themselves they need others to kill in the next battle but **** knows where they get the numbers from for another battle?
if you actually look you don't really get the impression that everyone dies except from the courtyard scene and obviously the lads at the crypt door screaming.
a) dolthraki wiped out in the worse blunder since the charge of the light brigade. the general assumption is the 100k of them might be like.. 5? left. there's bound to be a couple thousand scraped up.
b) unsullied retreated in good order from back ranks leaving greyworm.closing date thing to trap the rest. we get little impression of what happens there.
greyworm.was in courtyard so you would assume but...
c) men of the North... most cut and ran. The 50 mormonts didnt but let's see.
d) wildlings. on 2k anyway... we will see.
e) certainly 1 dragon left. jons mount was badly wounded let's assume.
so.... I'm willing to bet we will see a lot more army left than the night scenes led us to believe.
Very dull. it got going with fat thor and the ridiculous hulk but then it sank right back in.
The stupid girl.power bit ruined the final battle cos they did it then immediately the men stepped in to be real hero's.. again.
why... just why...
captain marvel is like a bad friend who can't be arsed and only rungs when they want something... that's really ****ing stupid.
It was like the Justice League when Superman turns up and everyone is "ok chill we got this now".
on GoT anything from here is inevitably political.intrigue.
it is an anticlimax then. a 3 show completion of deanarys story arc with a bit of temptation for jon.
has to be really cos that battle was the tension packed block buster.

arya... over egged? given great 5 minutes hiding and running but then denied climactic run to garden and instead.given a running jump and stab.
brienne... for Jamie at final do I **** my sister dilemma?

The hound.. clearly mountaineering.

she turns up never having been in avenger magically then ****s off cos she's something better to do then turns up 3 hours mind 3 ****ing hours later....

The 20mins or extra 2 hours of wrap up were just ripping the piss then.
it was dark
we see dolthraki swords go.out but we only.catch a few shots of Wight dolthraki.
only a few horses returned loose too.
one would assume the unassailable cavalry are gone.
The rest though.... she will have 10k without question and the greyjoy queen will sail back in I'm sure.
one dragon with fire equalises most things too.
I've always thought it a bit Holywood anyway, I enjoyed the big battle but thought the Night Kings death was a bit rubbish.
I thought it inevitable though early in the show. I know it was "only 6 shows this year" but.... it felt early to end this massive looming threat
My view on the night king death is he got an ENTIRE show... and ENTIRE MOVIE length show of everything they tried failed. His cheeky grin at deanyrs for example.
For me we were denied the umber death scene. the night kings excesses and torture hasn't been shown. He has been hidden from us and the results of his actions are just shown.
For me it is a well used trope that when all else fails a character can be killed by a bit of subterfuge.
My personal views are:
a) the dolthraki charge made NO sense... none. not one bit. you don't charge cavalry into the dark.
b) the storm bit. great that added to things
c) the heavy heavy night... ruined the spectacle quite a bit especially early on.
d) the music and background beat was stolen right from dunkirk. i think this heavily influences the sense of impending dread they were going for here.
e) the thing needed at lease SOME white walker v hero action through out. have a few whites fall and some dead die but it they merely went for unrelenting wave. Very infinity wars frankly. waves of dead piling up over walls over fire etc etc etc thats fine but once walls were broken some level of.. well this character killed a white so this part of the army survived would have made snese.
f) The library type scene with the dead was fine.. great.
g) they went and followed jons snow from an impossible situation saved by deanyrs again and did a first person type camera angle they'd done before. that was all good. well done even...
h) they missed out on how arya got frm where she was to where she ended up. That imo was what jars people.
I) at no time did the night king really show any fighting ability really. They gave theon a little scene but again it didn't add.
Again he got the entire show. The could easily have done this episode 4 and built up the final final battle more but also given the night king more action slaughtering and cruelly snuffing out umbers... its quite possible a bit of horrific butchery would have made people more happy
