I don't see why it won't go ahead, only if the Allam's decision not to support it, which is always a possibility. Even though I had no time for the last 2 owners of Ferriby U, the fact that Ehab took away the U23 games from Church Lane was a big reason why they went bust.
Good old Ehab eh. My worry is that City seemed to show the Billy Bly Trophy and less respect in recent years. It's gradually become a youth team game rather than a first team one. It started to seem like an obligation. I wonder whether Ferriby being liquidated and reborn will be the excuse City decide to use to stop it altogether.
You could well be right, we know the Allam's just do things for sheer vindictiveness against local people. it seems Nigel is a big fan of using Ferriby, maybe that is one of his conditions for staying, that Ferriby is used as one of the warm-up games pre-season. Having said that, I'm not holding my breath.
Hall Road Rangers, who I assume are who you are referring to, aren’t anything to do with Waltham. They now play at Haworth Park. EDIT: Apologies Dennis, I didn't realise East Hull used to be East Yorkshire Carnegie.
The sad thing about Ferriby going under was the amount of the debt £7500 whilst the likes of Salford in their last season in the Conference North were apparently losing 32000 per week
The total debt was about £70k, the £7.5k was just the debt owed to one company who brought the winding up action.
Love that shirt. Mark Dransfield built me an industrial building many years ago, I always found him a decent sort so I’m pleased to see him involved at Ferriby.
