Morning Everyone They say controversy creates cash - if that were true, Leeds Utd would be one of the wealthiest football clubs on the planet! Within the confounds of LS11 this season, controversy has been replaced by passion, hope and Northern grit! Unfortunately, where Leeds are concerned, scandals are never far away! Having dominated for long periods for the first two thirds of the game against a Villa team looking for their 11th straight win in a row, it looked like due to Leeds lack of firepower, the game would end in stalemate - but not if karma had its way.... Klich opened the scoring as Jonathan Kodjia lay injured near the halfway line unsuccessfully trying to foul Liam Cooper, and injuring himself in the process! During the built up, Tyler Roberts appeared to be ready to put the ball out of play, but instead feeds Klich who curls a low right-foot shot inside the post. The Villa players who had already stopped play were incensed. A 22 man melee quickly followed and well as heated scenes from both benches resulting in yellow cards for Bamford and Hourihane as well as an early bath for El Ghazi who appeared to strike Bamford, only for replays to show no contact was made. The video replay certainly does not reflect well on Bamford. Will the FA impose disciplinary measures against the striker for simulation? Let us not forget that Roofe is sidelined at the moment and we do not know when he'll be back! Eventually the game resumed, and on Bielsa's instructions, Villa were to be gifted an equaliser - but not if Jansson had anything to say about it. As Adomah proceeded to walk the ball into the net, the Swede made a (halfhearted imo) effort to try and clear the ball, completely ignoring his bosses wishes. In the post match presser, a clearly angry Bielsa had this to say:- Phil Hay@PhilHayYEP Slightly odd from Bielsa on Jansson trying to stop Adomah score. "Jansson didn't want to obey the indication I gave. That diminishes my authority and I don't know what the consequences are when you lose respect from a player." But then said his answer was ironic Did Klich know that Kodjia was injured - initially he said he didn't. If that was the case, why did he feel the need to apologise to Villa Manager Dean Smith after the game? Will Bamford receive a ban for simulation? Roofe could very well be out for the season! What kind of punishment will Janson receive for ignoring Bielsa's orders? The curse of the left back continuous. Dallas could be ruled out of the play offs! Who should take his place? Should Brown have been given some game time?
I think this calls for a points deduction large enough to ensure we are relegated. Fat Frank is struggling to make the playoffs so that would help him too.
Good Morning to Matt and co from a dull Bardsey I was always taught you played to the whistle and Keown who labelled Bielsaa cheat what does he say now I wonder and Jenas too
Good morning it was a great game and day out. As for Bielsa well he should have kept quiet and let the ref sort it out. Grealish one diving bastard and needs a good kicking. The idiot vilka player takes on cooper and gets hurt ha bloody ha serves him right. If bielsas gift goal sees us lose third spot to west brom i will be more than fuming. Pontus shows his feelings at times well so what.at least he shows some fight. I see dull city still think we care about them. Their site is just full of crap about us its pathetic really. Villa gave us lots of stick but the ref booked us first. They got away with loads. The villa manager would not have let us walk it in.
Morning all Firstly lets stop all the talk of controversy because bigger football brains than our from all around the world are saying: Leeds did nothing wrong, they played to the whistle, the referee stops the game for head injuries only, and not many managers would have allowed the opposition to have a free goal. these comments come from top refs like mark Clatterburg and more, people at the top of the game like Wenger and he even said that Bielsa is extraordinary because Leeds are playing to get back to the premiership and then handed it to Sheff Utd and will now have to play through the play offs knowing they must get a result in their last game. The premiership and world football wants Leeds back in the top flight and lots of pundits are saying things like good luck Norwich and Blunts but we will save your place in the Championship...... Leeds are the only club capable of surviving in the premiership and everyone wants them at their stadiums. Got to feel proud of the club and the players and as far as Pontus being punished.... Last night at the awards Pontus was interviewed on stage and asked why he tried to tackle Adomah 'I am a defender and i worked my butt off for 90 minutes to keep a clean sheet and i had to do something' he was given a standing ovation so no way is he in trouble. I posted some stats on another thread last night that shows a mini league of the top 6 after playing each other and we are top by a country mile because we have beaten them all and in some cases battered them twice, so nobody will want to play us because we are fitter, faster and more skilfull than every team we will play. We battered Villa yesterday and they know it and we just need a little bit more craft in front of goal.... I will update the loan watch sticky later as Cibicki has been in free scoring form last week scoring 2 on Saturday but scoring in another game too. Saiz actually made the bench for Getafe and came on late and scored the equaliser and it was a screamer
What a load of bollocks!!! The villa player who put the ball out when Forshaw got injured was surrounded by Leeds players and the best option for him was to put the ball out of play. Kodjia tried to foul Cooper and came off second best, it was not an head injury and the ref (who was having a stinker) did not stop play, Hourihane should have been given a red card for his actions on Klick, i thought Klick did well not to retaliate on him, whilst all this was kicking off that twat Terry (who incidentally crocked lots of footballers in his time as a player) and Dean Smith was surrounding Bielsa and did there bullying tactics, i think Bielsa had flashes of Spy Gate running through is mind and made a decision to put things right with all his critics...... i myself would of told them all to GTF. Bamford, what a pathetic lightweight twat he is, he could get punished for his actions, BUT the linesman rushed to Attwell and informed him there was an elbow in Bamfords face, hence the red card.........will the FA go against one of the officials, who obviously was not up to speed with the incident and the game, it will be interesting to see the outcome. Grealish is supposedly the hottest property in the Championship, what a laugh that is, he is a whinging moaning piece of sh1t, Philips had him in his pocket like he would of done to Maupay if he had played at Brentford (Bielsa's mistake). Another Villa twat that needs a good seeing to is McGinn, he went round trying to crock some of our players including Philips but he was too quick and wise for him. The bottom line is that i hope we push on over the next 4 games and get our just rewards for the hard work the team has put in and the fantastic support. MOT
I think he would and if he hadn't done it yesterday he could have fielded a team of kids for Ipswich and rested top players ready for play offs. He has to field a team capable of getting a result now because we will finish 4th if we don't at least get a draw, due to goal difference
Genuinely don’t know doc... but I’m not sure he believes in rest! I think he believes in confidence and would want to put a strong side out v Ipswich anyway.
Morning all My take on the equaliser yesterday is Bielsa new exactly what he was doing,by gifting villa a point, more or less now insures,we miss both villa & Wba in the first game of the play offs, meaning they will play each other,so one of the teams we most fear will go,does look as though we will play Derby atm, destroyed them in both games this season, can we do it again,or will fat Frank have the last laugh, that realy would rub salt in the wounds.Personally i see us against WBA in the finale, think villa long run of wins/luck have now come to an end.MOT
Bloody media all over his again. Controversial circumstances ? Villa player tries to foul Cooper right in front of the ref and injures himself in the process. Did the ref blow his whistle ? No, carry on lads. Villa ****ers decide they know better and try to bully Roberts into putting the ball out. Villa players stopped - their problem. By rights the EFL should retrospectively sanction Villa and rule out the goal. Yet it's "Leeds cheats", "Leeds scum" again, ****ing disgrace.
