You'd hope your boss would praise you BBC's take on Hamilton's interview coy'ness' Lewis Hamilton refuses to criticise Schumacher tactics
Oh dear is that not called intelligent racing? Why get yourself caught up in the mess when you can let others do that and benefit from likely mistakes.
you do have a point for example in monaco jenson stuck in 3rd, sitting back waiting for firework that never happened because of the safety car
Precisely - I was actually gonna use Monaco as another example. If that had been Lewis he would have been hassling them - trying to force them into a mistake - trying to make something happen and get past and having eveyone watching on the edge of their seats with a grandstand finish. For me thats racing.
If that was Hamilton he would of crashed. You can't blame Button for failing to predict that there was going to be a red flag.
how about Canada, when Button gunned down Vettel and forced him into a mistake, i suppose that's boring old Button, whereas Lewis doing exactly the same thing is for some reason more exciting?
Again I blame the media for making Lewis look like some demi god and it's now getting to him... Not trying to turn the screw, but Lewis said he was at 110% at the start of the season and that his mind was entirely focused on winning the title this year and instead we are looking at his worst season to date. What's he going to be like next year?
I think I have changed my mind about Button. I never really rated him until this season but he has been pretty consistent overall. He seems to have a cool head when it comes to making the big decisions in races and overall I would say he is more of a complete driver than Hamilton. Well done to Michael Schumacher today. He is really starting to come alive in the second part of the season and it's making the racing much more interesting.
Button has always been this good, he just struggles with set up, but this season he seems to have got it right more often. Schumacher just needed last season to warm up after a long break. For me Vettel is the guy that really improved massively, I know he has a fast car but the way hes stayed out of trouble and hasn't made many mistakes (canada & germany) all season is the mark of a world champion.
Most drivers have improved this season. People such as Vitaly Petrov, Jaime Alguersuari, Bruno Senna etc.
Not been on here much lately as quite disillusioned with the whole F1 to Sky business, in fact today was the first race I have really enjoyed since that news came out. I know Schumi made more than one move in that incident but I have found the whole overreaction to that quite ridiculous, here and elsewhere. I think people want to see all the life drained out of F1, and no proper racing at all, and am glad that the stewards gave him the benefit of the doubt. Was also impressed by Hamiltons maturity after the race, and composure during it. Being a Ferrari man it was disappointing to see Fernando struggling from the front after such a brilliant start. I am undecided what to do regarding F1 next year given the chopped coverage so am playing it by ear at the moment, might go to the GP instead of paying for Sky. Grim days.
That is what I call a comment, Michael is a very feisty driver from the old age of the 90's when drivers shunted each other off for position! The thing is once drivers get used to that kind of racing, it is embedded into them and they will race like that for the rest of their career. I have to say that the incident with Michael and Lewis has been blown out of proportion, it shows how limp F1 is these days, to be honest Michael is the only driver out their with a backbone (made out of steel). Alonso went wide to defend against Vettel.. who was right onto the grass at one point.... no mention of this.. it's a shame that the biased BBC < yes I have said it.. is out once again to bash Schumacher for his defending race craft. Well done Michael, for a 42 year old to put up a fight against a younger more recent champion... well I am speechless. Accept from this little bit of info: Schumacher 332 km/h with KERS + Straight line speed + Potential 7th place car = 5th Hamilton 329 km/h with DRS + KERS + Faster car+ Higher grid position = 3rd
Manny -' I have to say that the incident with Michael and Lewis has been blown out of proportion, it shows how limp F1 is these days' Yes - I agree OTT. HOWEVER If the authorities had called Schuey and said 'do that again and you get a pit lane drive thru' all would be well. And overall standards of driving might improve. Brawn effectively tried and succeeded in warning him.
Hay manny good guts to stick it out with Schumi, he's definatly on par with Rosberg now. Shame both have been unlucky with tyre wear and crashes to lower the points tally, could of been knocking on Ferrari's door for 3rd. Here's hoping the WO3 is a title contending car and we will surely see fireworks in 2012 with Schumi and Nico fighting Lewis more often And I agree it's been blown out of proportion with these 2 moves, remember the video I posted up with Lewis making 2 moves on Seb at Silverstone? not a whisper from the BBC...
That doesnt make a difference. They both allegedly did it. So either both get a penalty or none get a penalty. In which I say none get a penalty.
The problem is it starts to set a trend, and they all might start swerving down the straights. It either has to be punished (regardless of who does it) or be removed from the rules.
