The change of manager later Wenger teams always found strength once the league was out of reach

I'm not saying Emery is absolved from responsibility as we were playing crap even before Maitland-Niles got sent off. The line-up was as good as we could have expected, but the set up was too conservative.

However, I am not sure what more he could have done when the players don't show any hunger or aggression on the pitch. The buck always stops with the manager, but there is only so much he can do.

For me, today's result is more on the players than Emery. Same as Wolves. Because these sorts of results and shoddy away performances have been happening for the last two and a bit years now.

Until he can bring in the players he wants, and exiles the likes of Mkhitaryan, Xhaka, Iwobi, Kolasinac, Monreal, Mustafi etc (even if they don't leave, just don't facking play them), we will continue to suffer.

Exactly - this is what people are forgetting. Our players look like title contenders when the pressure is off of them, but when it's on? They fold like a pack of cards.

This is a first - Come on Chelsea - Utd have 2 gimmes to come after this and a loss today leaves them 6 pts and 16 goals behind us

It has to be time to give some of the kids a go?

Mauricio Pochettino's first season was turned around by Kane, Bentaleb, Mason, etc.

Even if you lose the next game, it gives some of the highly paid ****s a boot up the backside.

Today was tantamount to waiving the white flag.....we like a white flag.

Utd win for me. Top three is still in our hands and so if Utd win, there’s a small chance both Arsenal and Chelsea may finish outside of the top four (again :) ) if Utd are able to clinch 4th.

Yes I can that reasoning, I am just so worried by our form at the moment that taking United out of the equation is my thinking

True. Which is why Shearer's tally still looks a long, long way away.
Modern football is so demanding physically and why any team at the top needs proper depth in their squad.

Surely a draw leaves top 3 in our hands. Hazard straight red for violent conduct would be the icing in the cake, any other reds would be the cherry on the icing.

Yeah I get where you’re coming from, but it would take a monumental **** up from us now (and don’t get me wrong, we’re more than capable of one) to relinquish third spot.

Quite frankly, if we don’t finish third, the squad and management needs shooting.

Kane should have bitten the bullet and had an opp.

PS If we make the CL final and Kane comes on and scores the winner, I'll eat my words.

A draw is also a decent result, I just like the idea of Utd potentially ****ing Arsenal and Chelsea out of a top four place.

This is why I say what I do. It means you can RCL the **** out of it and hey-presto, we get what we want.

There’s an incredible method to my madness, mate.

That comes with Chavs getting a 10 point deduction for playing an incorrectly registered player.... <laugh>

Can’t believe we may get away with another poor result. To finish top four with 12 defeats is almost unthinkable. If we do manage it, I hope this doesn’t paper over the gaping cracks. Our squad is running on fumes right now
