I wouldn't say a long way behind. The squad has shown it's capable of being a top half team under a good manager.
The manager has made an enormous difference. But the squad is, as @Libby observed at Molineux, bang average at best. Nothing I’ve seen since that first Wolves game has contradicted that assessment, imo. So let’s give the manager a decent chance by trying to improve the squad.
Well said Fran. The guy’s just super ambitious and we were a stepping stone which he acknowledges He’ll do the same to Liverpool soon. That’s life
I disagree. I was at Molineux as well, and Wolves were not much better than us that day. Wolves have been excellent this season, no doubt about it. But we've beaten them, Everton and Leicester under Ralph - the teams we'll be looking to compete with next season. The gap between us and them is not a big one, especially if we make some good signings in the summer.
Wolves have been a breath of fresh air this season. But it looks like next season they'll be starting in July. Now that's a leveller

Just seen a tweet from the Dublin Fire Brigade: We have contacted Southampton Fire Brigade because Shane Long's on fire.
I think we will finish above the likes of Leicester next season. I would imagine that the players looking to be brought in were probably identified back in January but that nothing was progressed in this respect because our survival was far from certain at that point. I feel more confident about the beginning of next season that I have been since the start of Koeman's last season at the helm. There is no way we will be involved in another relegation scrap and think 2019/20 will be really exciting, Expect to see some genuine changes for the better in the summer transfer window.
