Well had to get a 1st in my degree which was in Civil Engineering. From there, I will admit I got a bit lucky and did well on pre assessment mathematical and logic reasoning tests and somehow got through the assessment day, then the interview and got the job. I had applied to 100's of places to get one success though and it is in Leeds and not London. I also did a couple of interships at some major banks as well!

Ah thanks sounds competitive, but doing law so whatever I go into will probably very competitive. What made you go from Civil Engineering to banks may I ask?

Law is competitive but again, if you have done some summer placements somewhere it does make you stand out! The real reason for ditching Engineering was for the money. Stupid reason (and I will admit that) but at the time, all I saw was a mountain of debt with no way of ever repaying it let alone getting a mortgage and a car etc so it all swayed my choices a bit. That said, I do enjoy my job and would not dream of ever doing anything else so I am happy to have gone down this route

Used to have a friend in Zara who would give me good fashion advice and clothes at staff discount. Sadly she has toddled off to uni now and no longer gets the discounts :(.

Zara is really good, I had a friend that used to work there too! Got a jumper from there today too. I had a right shopping spree. It was like panic buying for the winter.

If you ever have a spare weekend, take your camping gear and go to TK Maxx. They have some awesome stuff there but you can get lost in a maze of junk and it takes forever to find anything good! Alas it is sooooo worth it though

I dont like it in there. Feels like a posh Sports Direct. The clothes, are tack. Fair enough, you can get a Ralph Lauren Polo for £15, but how many XXL people are there out there. Who want to wear light blue?

Just in European countries. France, Belgium, Czech Rep. Have also lived in York and Leeds in England. Funnily enough we've been trying to move to New York for the last 12 months or so, you're right it really isn't easy at all.
If you want to live like this then you should definitely make it happen <ok>, some people get put off easily or think its too much hassle or the language barrier is trouble, but don't let that bother you and go for it. Provided you can keep bringing money in for yourself you'll love it.

Money is sadly the driving factor for pretty much everything nowadays, and although it's obvious we all want to earn as much as possible, having a job you enjoy is just as important. It's a massive portion of your life, and if you hate it, you'll just be a wealthy, miserable person!
