Join the Police? Surely, with the degree you dont just have to be a normal everyday bobby.

Completed a diploma in Public Services, Law and the Legal system, democratic process and major incident stategies and tactics just before the recession hit. There is a huge shortage of jobs in the public sector since David Cameron and his team started reducing the deficit. I'm currently biding my time in the private security sector working as a CCTV operator, very closely in conjuction with Durham Police.

I would eventually like to start a career in the Prison Service. I'm only 23 so time is on my side and a career move to the prison service right now would mean an unaffordable 6k salary reduction with the other half being in her last year at uni. It's difficult only having one wage coming in but as soon as she gets a job I'll start looking at my own career again.

Wow that is awesome. I think that is the way I would like to live, certainly in the immediate future. I am in a similar position to the Z, I am just entering my final year at uni and I have no idea what I want to do as a career afterwards, I think I will probably just do a bit of travelling while I work it out. Where else have you lived? Just in Europe or other places around the world? I suppose Europe is easier because of visa issues in other countries, I have always wanted to live/work in New York but green cards are a bitch to get.
