Best Driver: Alonso Worst Driver: Webber Best Rookie: Senna Best Team: Red Bull - frighteningly good in the fast circuitss now as well as high downforce circuits Worst Team: McLaren - should have used the stops as an opportunity to get Hamilton past Schumacher but failed to do so Best Overtake: Vettel on Alonso Funniest-moment: ??? Most Surprising Result: Schumacher Least Surprising Result: Another Vettel win Special Mention to: Algersuari - still showing lightening form since his seat came under threat, good man Race Rating: 6/10
I'm not counting his HRT days and he has 11 races less experience of the Pirellis than everyone else. Best Driver: Vettel, JB and Alonso were class as well and there were some good drives further down Worst Driver: Liuzzi closely followed by Webber Best Rookie: Di Resta Best Team: Toro Rosso Worst Team: Ferrari - expected them to be much stronger here Best Overtake: Vettel on Alonso Funniest-moment: Brundle when Lewis was closing on Alonso: "Look in the background, there's Hamilton coming out of Ascari under a Virgin er... behind Glock's car" Most Surprising Result: Ferrari's lack of pace Least Surprising Result: Red Bull pulling something out the bag again Special Mention to: Senna - solid start to his career Race Rating: 8/10
Best Driver: Michael Schumacher Worst Driver: Liuzzi for a way too opportunistic overtaking attempt at the start. Best Rookie: Bruno Senna Best Team: Red Bull unfortunately (I'm a Ferrari Fan) Worst Team: Williams, one of the sports past super teams. It shouldn't be possible to drop so far behind. Best Overtake: Several. ALO on the grass at the start. VET on the grass over ALO. But on MSC. MSC re-pass on Ham. I cant decide which one. Funniest-moment: Again, too many funny moments worth mentioning this race. How easy BUT passed MSC after HAM have failed for so many laps. HAM coming out of the pits finding himself behind MSC, AGAIN lol (harsh but hilarious). Barichello stranding himself while trying to get out of 1st corner incident. Most Surprising Result: Hamilton didn't crash. Least Surprising Result: Red Bull Dominating. Special Mention to: Senna, Di Resta, Alguersuari. But most of all Schumi for making this such an enjoyable race. Race Rating: 8/10 Best BBC commentator/presenter: Martin Brundle followed closely by Jake, DC and TK. Worst BBC commentator/presenter: Eddie Jordan. Only good thing about the new TV deal is that we only have to see him for half as many races! Best Commentary moment: Button to MB "Good that you are picking up on the important things" after MB noticed buttons increased number of tear off's hahahaha. And the entire Post race Forum Button interview. Button was funny all way through with his faces and comments. Overall BBC coverage rating: 7/10. (9/10 would they had last years post race forum format with more video analyzes and driver interviews in a separate area instead of this years "just-hanging-around-the-paddock-a-while-longer-to-chit-chat-making-the-time-run")
Best Driver: Schumacher got the maximum out of his car today. Worst Driver: Pastor Maldonado/Rubens Barrichello. They can blame the car all they like, with all the retirements today at least one of them should have taken points. Best Rookie: Not applicable. Best Team: Torro Rosso, pound for pound Worst Team: Williams for a poor driving performance, Sauber for poor reliability. Best Overtake: Through gritted teeth I have to give it to Vettel on Alonso. Funniest-moment: Jenson Button answering "you'll have to ask Martin" to all of David Croft's questions Most Surprising Result: Alguersuari 7th Least Surprising Result: Schumacher finishing ahead of Rosberg. Given the way the race panned out that's harsh, but starting on hards with a bunch of drivers who aren't that much slower and have softs directly behind you was always going to be a risky strategy. Special Mention to: The points-scoring Germans. Even if you disagree with my pick for driver of the day, Schumacher and Vettel were at the heart of the best action. Race Rating: 7/10
Does anyone else think that when EJ, DC & MB have a laugh with the drivers or team bosses that Jake Humphrey just ruins it with his crap jokes. Why not get someone like Ted Kravitz present.
Best Driver: Vettel Worst Driver: Liuzzi Best Rookie: Paul Di Resta Best Team: Toro Rosso Worst Team: Sauber, the drivers drove were really well and were let down Best Overtake: Button on Schumacher, completely showed Hamilton up Funniest-moment: Button's attempted overtake on Barichello entering the pits was about it Most Surprising Result: Caution from Hamilton Least Surprising Result: Red Bull win and a charge from Button Special Mention to: Algersuari, but it doesn't seem surprising that it happened Race Rating: 8/10 Best BBC commentator/presenter: Martin Brundle Worst BBC commentator/presenter: Best Commentary moment: "new tires are like a new pair of jeans" Overall BBC coverage rating: 8/10
It doesn't look like it. They've been calling for his head all season. With f1 going to sky next year, they'll get their wish and he'll be gone, probably to be replaced by Jonathan Legard
I think Jake is great. Compare him to the MotoGP Presenter Matt Roberts it's like comparing cold and warm beer. Compare to when Lee stepped in last year, she is very easy on both the eye and the ear(when you cut out her waist and below ), but the coverage was awful. Jake's great on the screen imho but I doubt he would be great alone though. I think it is the combined chemistry of the current team that make it all work. Even EJ which I really cant stand left a hole when he was away one weekend earlier this year or was it last. If I had to replace Jake and could choose whoever I wanted it would be Richard Hammond. But me not being from the UK I am only really following F1, MotoGP and TopGear. I am sure you guys have plenty other good TV profiles.
I think jake is the best f1 host for ages. I can't see who would replace him. And about Hammond, he hates F1, so he'd never present it. The only TG presenter who would do it is Clarkson.
