Four; Lallana, Lambert, Chambers and the DM Man Utd signed who's name escapes me Edit; Sniederlain (sp)
I haven't suggested anything I just don't see any club losing 6 players in one go. Two things: 1 you seem to be saying that one of the 'smaller' clubs would be the victims of being stripped. 2 most of the 'bigger' clubs buy abroad unless they're looking for home grown to keep their quotas intact.
Man Utd once sold numerous first teamers in one window; Ince, Kanchelskis, Hughes, etc. How'd that work out?
Three player rule doesnt work. However for debates sake. Are free transfers new players? Is there an age limit to what is a buy/take on at the club. How are you going to stock up on your youth team/academy? What happens when a number of players run out of their contracts? Can players buy out of their contracts? What happens when a giant gets relegated with big wages and cant get rid of their players because there are only limited transfers? What about loan players, do they count as a player incoming?
southampton 2014/15 purchases: Dušan Tadić £10,900,000 Graziano Pellè £9,000,000 Fraser Forster £10,000,000 Shane Long £12,000,000 Sadio Mané £10,000,000 Florin Gardos £6,000,000 Saphir Taider Swap Ryan Bertrand £10,000,000 Departures: Tom Leggett Free Isaac Nehemie Free Andy Robinson Free Rickie Lambert £4,000,000 Danny Fox Free Luke Shaw £27,000,000 Guly do Prado Released Lee Barnard Released Jonathan Forte Released Adam Lallana £25,000,000 Dejan Lovren £20,000,000 Calum Chambers £16,000,000 Billy Sharp £600,000 Matt Young Released Jonathan Forte Released Dani Osvaldo Swap Jack Cork £3,000,000 They held sneiderlin who was rightly pissed and ended up at utd not arsenal and flopped. As i'd recall... thatd really be: Lambert, Shaw (break out player but still) Lallana, lovren, cork... chambers as i recall vaguely wasn't a huge loss due to age, was on edge of squad. 5 or 6 then... and if you say sneiderlin was unsettled fair enough. but... look at what they replaced with... everyon bar gardos had a big big part to play in thier season. 6 deffo first 11 starters I could go on but you'd prob complain about post length so in short next year lost clyne and sneiderlin following year lost wanyama, mane, pelle and fonte which is again 4 first team starters following year Jay rod (was busted at the time) and VVD following year (this one) lost tadic and gabbiandini So.... yeah you can be picked on every year so having a rule that says yuo can only buy 3 or something makes no sense if you are losing 4 or 5 every year to various clubs.
If you are prevented from employing people by a rule you'd go to the eu cos it would be unjust. It'd be really simply in my view. 1. Sneior players are entitled to move when out of contract, out of contract should be a free for all. 2. yes players (agents) should be able to buy themselves out of a contract. HOWEVER their registration should not be owned by agents PERIOD. 3. yes there should be a clear age restriction on players. No player should have fees paid before age of 18 and clearly players should never be allowed change countries under age. Freedom of movement rules in eu aside we are talking about employment of minors. 4. If someone gets relegated and doesn't have wage reductions in contracts more fool them. 5. loans are already heavily regulated on the intake (not heavily regulated enough on the outgoing as your club proves.
So for some club with unlimited money/richer clubs 1. Hoover up all the out of contract players 2. Big clubs pay players to buy themselves out then get them on a free and not count as a buy 3. Loads of academy players stuck until their contracts are up as how many teams are going to buy youth players with only 3 transfers to make 4. Yes but loads of clubs don't have relegation clauses to tempt players. Stupid but they normally go on a fire sale which won't happen now. See more clubs going to the dregs 5. Bigger clubs will just pay loan fees to get players to offset their 3 player transfers only. Why i don't think only buying 3 players will work
I know he's been mentioned on here a few times in the past few weeks, but Joao Felix (the Benfica player) has now been linked again by the reporter who broke the Fabinho news last year. Crazy money mentioned, upwards of 100mill Euros for a kid, but he's a good source previously so who knows. Given Klopp's said basically we're not going to spending hugely, just a few here or there if the right player is available, who do we think our summer targets are? Werner could be on the move, Bayern more likely though? He's the more expensive one and tbh, I've never been convinced on the occasions I've seen him play. More bargain hunting level though: Brandt looks like a possibility - 25mill clause in his contract - and Klopp is a huge fan having wanted him over Salah originally. There's Hakim Ziyech at Ajax who's having a great season and has been scouted by us, 16 goals and 12 assists so far. Reportedly available for less for 30mill. Also young Steven Bergwijn from PSV, 14goals and 12 assists, who's similarly available for less than 30mill. Any favourites? Realistically.
I dont know why but have a feeling klopp is just bluffing media. Felix is more likely than the napoli striker insigne? Werner i keep being told is done deal to us but media keep reporting going to bayern. Virgil dutch partner young lad would like to see.
Jurgen Klopp said "Liverpool do their dealings privately not through the media". Clever game. Also being careful of the accusation of tapping up players.
