They always seem to be scraping around for money Oz... can see them becoming another Chuckle Brothers after a season or two
. But is that simply because it is foriegn investors, or is it the actual individuals in the deal, not being worthy etc ? I get what AllHell just said, with money not seeming to be endless. What's the ideal scenario then, who in all seriousness would we love to see takeover ?
Gives me the ****es over here, everyone and anyone who has an interest in the English game follows one of the top 5 clubs, only.
Doesn't have to be British, as long as they have sufficient money and a commitment to the Club. The Yank who owns Millwall seems a good owner and he doesn't have pots of money... just sufficient.
Could just be like having a shiney new toy hey, for some possible investors. Long term foresight is essential.
The Charlton fan base has totally got the arsehole with the Aussies & their entourage. They have led fans on for 18 months, and insulted their intelligence with their derisory excuses about missing EFL paperwork. The truth is they they hugely oversold their interest - via one very misguided individual- from Day One. It was obvious that they were chancers & it was obvious that the consortium didn’t have the money. The titular figurehead - Muir - did have the personal wealth, but it spoke volumes for his own commitment, or lack of, that he would risk it. Unfortunately the Aussie mouthpieces were not around when Charlton was owned by classy, understated human beings like Mike Norris and Roger Alwen.
Jealousy ....you are missing out on a massive Charlton away day tomorrow, in your heart of hearts you want to be there with @Clb74 & I
Even if I was still going this game would bore the backside off me. A nothing game in an absolute hovel, waiting for Bastia mk11 to happen. Instead of being within a few feet of you clowns I'll be about 250 miles away from you
@Clb74 will be pleased to read that the chance of rain between 15:00 and 17:00 in Gillingham has reduced to 20% but the 20mph winds in the meccano stand will be fun. Reasonably sure that today will not be a shorts and flip flop day
Starting the day off well, knowing I'll be away from the Medway pong, plus 250+ miles away from pinky and (not so)perky.
