See on the BBC he is bitching about two blatent penalties that were not awarded, does he have reason to be peaved or just a desparate man trying to hold on to his job.
The man is a shade frustrated that's for sure........he was sure he should of had a penalty.......or two. What nonsense.......Both incidents were down the other end it is true.......I watched the one with Davis......I also watched the lines man. Whatever went on the linesman was waving and pointing up the field almost as the lad fell down. It is a rare thing for a lines man to do that against a forward player so in my opinion he was rightly booked. They were certainly doing all they could to try and get a penalty in the first half that was sure. In the second I think Forest were very lucky to get away with some shirt tugging and pushing in the box. That as they say though goes with the territory....you win some you lose some. It looks like they are beginning to get so desperate for a result they will try anything including conning the ref. It is true perhaps he wasn't the best of Ref's but I'm glad he was not conned on those occasions!
McLaren is woeful. I can't imagine him motivating any player, he's just so dull and dreary and full of his own importance. Doesn't appear to have any tactical knowledge either, his subs yesterday weakened Forest, whereas Adkins changes strengthened Saints. I can't see him lasting long at Forest.
"Everyone in the ground thought it was a penalty (Davis on Derbyshire)" Well Steve, they didn't. I did but I was up the other end of the ground. The person with the best view of the incident in the whole ground was the linesman who got it spot on judging by the pictures. Derbyshire dived/pretended to die. Tom Coull, Saints' media man, said yesterday that the footage he viewed proved as much. 'All Angels Covered', including another view of the Derbyshire incident, will be uploaded tomorrow to Saints Player.
Was amazed by the colour of his face looked like he might have high blood preasure, cannot think why.
I like the way Davis rounded upon Derbyshire, as if to say... don't you dare try to cheat me..! MacClaren seems to have inherited his mentor, Ferguson's policy of post match comments. ie. if you lose, don't praise the opposition in the slightest and find a reason for why you lost other than than your own bloody fault.
Can't blame him for trying to deflect attention from his team's defeat and focus on how well his team play football. Managers have to seem to be in control, even though they're often little more than a storm-tossed coracle adrift in a raging sea.
Blatant dive. Stupid on his part too as he would have been in a good position had he stayed on his feet.
Loved it when he came about 15 yards onto the pitch and then ran back like he never knew he was there..
I didn't get to see much of the match on Saturday as there was this bloody great obese bloke who kept slowly running up and down in front of me. He had the number 11 on his shirt and I think his name was Reid.
I noticed on TFLS that the assistant was flagging for a foul on Davis, not for the dive as he was suggesting a shirt pull.
McClaren is a tad strange ,and indeed does seem a bit self important. Not sure if the England debacle will ever go away, yet he clearly feels he has done enough albeit out of the country to come back and have a crack. Moaning so early on about his circumstances just doesn't bode well.
was right in front of me too, great view from the Itchen, what a blatant dive it was, he wasnt even touching Davis and was facing such a wierd angle there was no way there was contact, "everyone in the stadium knew that was a pen" no Steve, 20k+ knew derbyshire was a diving little **** and also it has been mentioned on here already that the tactical genius of mclaren shone through - Miller was causing our defence mayhem and they couldnt deal with him (he is built like a s***house) and when he brought on mcgoaldrought i was pleased as punch, but if i were a forest fan id be fuming! that was like taking lallana off for anthony pulis! i simply dont see thr Mclaren era at forest working out. they are a good club so its a shame but im glad we finally beat them at least.
Apparently Miller was touching the back of his leg just before he was subbed. According to Merrington.
