As for the others he's mentioned. Smalling and Jones do look pretty poor, Jones in particular hasn't developed in the way he should have. Lukaku just doesn't seem to fit for some reason, there's a beast of a player in there but he's perhaps destined to excel at a top 10 side rather than one genuinely challenging. Darmian has looked tidy whenever I've seen him though that is admittedly not often and Young/ Valencia are beyond criticism for me - they come across as people who have grafted in training for years and done whatever managers have asked of them to the best of their abilities, that's all you can ask for.

Pogba. Well he can just royally **** off to be honest. I want to like him but I just can't. No matter how he develops he'll just never be as good as he thinks he is, as such I think trying to accommodate him will be the downfall of the team. Get rid whilst he's worth plenty in my opinion.

I honestly would prefer if Liverpool didn’t win the league but to think we should take a hiding to stop them winning is ******ed. FWIW I don’t actually think we have a say in the matter, if City turn up its a foregone conclusion.

It’s like a Liverpool fan hoping Everton batter them so that United finish 2nd to Everton, and as you say, losing their chances of top 4 at the same time.

If anything is going to light a fire under my club it’s Liverpool winning the league.
