True but it’s pointless if they don’t appoint a director who knows how to build the squad and buy the right players.
Player of season and Chelsea won the league. Following season he wouldn't get in a relegation team. Mourinho is sacked, player of the season form again. What do you think?
they need to appoint a director who can manage the scouting and coaching organisations so the scouts and coaches can pick the right players. do not fall for the technical director picks players ****e. there's a big team behind the s ends at Dortmund or Bayern or Barca or real. one person doesn't pick signings.
raised in the culture of club. there's a different disease at arsenal. emry is fighting the indulgence of Wenger and will have to clear out. Chelsea have indulged senior players since before ambramovich arrived. they have gotten worse under the Russian so I don't think it's only hazard and I don't think it'll end when he goes that all... just my opinion. look at Liverpool under klopp. klopps been let down time and again by bottlers and has really only had the team really believe in itself when things go it's way. his signings have been brilliant in reducing the level of bottlers and installing guys with great character like vvd and alisson. one of these days his team will be a team of winners
Everton have ****ed it up once but seem to maybe have it right this time. DoF, transfer panel, manager....not easy to get it right each time. Maybe Phelan is the right fit for United just as Klopp is as manager at Liverpool?
I was thinking the other day that young American lad with the foreign sounding name? would have been better signing for us. He's walking into a team at Chelsea unsure of who his teammates and manager will be.
no mate, just no. let them be coaches. phelans done ok helping ogs not cocky it up but there's a huge amount t he's not done in game.
Pulisic.(sp) seemed overpriced to me but really difficult to know until we see how lunatic the next window is.
Maybe have it right, never said it’s a given. We are right where we should be, best of the rest and looking like we have an identity and players being shifted out.
and those others will step up and take the mantle. managers need senior pros to be his men in the dressing room, to keep players in line and not slack off. they don't need men who decide if they feel like following the direction set or not
Shouldn’t you be thinking it’s the best possible move, really **** United up if true. Or if he is the man Ole has picked. Pass his ideas in and up
Not sure what "where we should be" means other than being based on the points you've got so far? How do you describe your identity? I don't see a distinct identity for you yet as you're in permanent transition. And if Watford win their game in hand, you're 2 places away from 'best of the rest' with games to go.
I can’t believe that we didn’t have an option to buy him. Klopp knew him, he knew Klopp.....either we couldn’t afford him (I doubt this) or Klopp has other priorities.
If he fails the first test which is don't go to the rich club offering you the most money then hes not for us. he's now walking into he HOPES is Europa league winners for cl next year... but he could be at a club in the Europa again and under a transfer ban so..... who knows.
he was supposedly £57.50m plus loaned back (possibly for nowt) so if we were competing with Chelsea who knows how much he would have cost. Have to say not convinced he is all that and my view is the Bundeslegia (sp) is not that great a standard these days.
I know Klopp has said he doesn't like signing players he's managed before and I can't remember whether this lad played for him or was just in the same league. I know there's a policy of value for money, maybe he didn't fit into that. I liked the look of him and thought he would be a good fit for us but I trust Klopp and his signings.
