Indeed, we were great yesterday. All the talk was about how **** United were, same as when we got a point off you lot, and then beat Chelsea & Arsenal in our previous 3 home games. Not bad to face those 4 sides, not concede a goal & beat 3 of them.
yeah. work rate was high. Garry Neville biased megarant was total disrespect. I caught the second half on tv after and while it was hilarious it ignored how Everton did play.
Whats your thoughts on silva? He does seem very hit and miss since he’s been in England. At hull and Watford has some good spells followed by dross and seems to be same way with you guys so far? Strange season when you think you’ve taken 10 points from those games but could still finish 10th behind teams like wolves and Watford who Everton should be well above.
He had no right getting Hull anywhere near safety with that squad, at Watford they were flying until we tapped him up..... This season was always going to be about a change of style & trying to take a mismatched squad & turn it into a team. There’s been more positives than negatives & we’ve shown lately that we’re more than capable of holding our own against the top 6, which is something we’ve not done for a few years. It’s results like these that show the progress we’ve made. We’re turning Goodison back into a fortress & we now need to start replicating that form away from home, it takes time.
EFC scored a couple of cracker goals yesterday and played well, but like a lot of teams they do not play consistently to that level. If the manager is supported financially then they could build a very decent team over the next three transfer windows. A big mistake a lot of teams make is trying to buy to many players at once, a couple of decent signings each window and move them into the first team gradually is how decent teams are built, assuming you are not owned by rich arabs who just buy players at their peak and then try and find a manager to get them to play together as a team, it has worked for City except in Europe and for PSG again except in Europe
Was a back four from the start. United were **** because we made them look like that. All over the park we were better than them, Gueye, Coleman were the players that didn’t catch the eye but were brilliant. United just didn’t want the fight, soon as they went one down the result was never in doubt. Silva has me converted now, his relationship with Brands will be key, he has had time to build confidence in Keane others who under performed. The summer clear out and recruiting the right players is critical, plus getting the best from the U23’s into the first team. Should finish 7th now, EL will help as it would allow squad/young players great game experience.
Isnt that always the case. Fans think their team outplayed the other and rival fans an opposition think its the other team playing poor. Just makes both sides feel better about themselves, wheres in reality its somewhere in the middle.
Cardiff were abysmal, nothing to do with a great 2nd half show from Liverpool. Were started at 100mph and kept that up all game. United just didn’t live with it and chucked the towel in. Only the introduction of McTomminay / loss of Richarlison helped add some bite/urgency and stop us going for 5-6 goals.
It’s just our f#cking luck...... we get a relatively easy game against Huddersfield only to learn tha City have an even easier game against Utd!
Utd were awful. Thought your work rate was excellent and theirs was non existent and you put them to the sword but let’s be honest, any team in the top flight and most in the championship would have despatched them yesterday. You can only beat what’s put in front of you - which you did admirably.
TBF, I think a lot of what he says is right but they're are clearly bits in there that are, shall we say, a bit tinted.
The funny thing is that they badly need a Director of Football... and they might hire the dinosaur that is Mike Phelan .. brilliant
