I can see that you lads have taken these hilarious defeats via comedy own goals without getting too flustered.
As long as you get three points against City, I don't mind if you get top four or not. Same goes for Spurs. Beat City and I won't begrudge you winning every remaining league game you have.
It's too close to call. Spurs have 64 points with 6 to play Arsenal have 63 pts with 7 to play Chelsea have 63 pts with 6 to play Utd have 61 pts with 6 to play Arsenal favourites with game in hand... But wouldn't bet on any tbh...all but arsensl have thrown points away in the past month or so. Gonna be a stressful time for all 4 sets of fans cos top 4 is going to determine their summer signings (if Chelsea's appeal is successful).
Won't you be surprised when the cream of Europe sign for us ... Messi, Rashford, De Bryne, Hazard and Henderson
For once, I'm not actually ****ting it about finishing in the top 4 because in Emery's first season, there was pretty much zero expectation on us. It's been a good first season for him and he's already arrested the decline that was happening under Wenger's last years. If Emery does manage to get top 4 it will be a brilliant season for us and will give us real boost in the transfer window and for our finances next season.
As it stands as of 20/04 P GD PTS 1 Man City 34 65 86 2 Liverpool 34 57 85 3 Tottenham 34 29 67 4 Arsenal 33 26 66 5 Chelsea 34 21 66 6 Man Utd 33 19 64 Four games left, Arsenal & Utd have 5 and if they win those then Arsenal go above Spurs and Utd leapfrog Chelsea. After that the four remaining games are: Arsenal Wolves (A) Leicester (A) Brighton (H) Burnley (A) Tottenham Brighton (H) West Ham (H) Bournemouth (A) Everton (H) Chelsea Burnley (H) Man Utd (A) Watford (H) Leicester (A) Man Utd Man City (H) Chelsea (H) Hudds (A) Cardiff (H) Arsenal have been gash on the road this season, but we won away at Watford and in the week at Napoli and kept clean sheets, so we could pick up points from those away games. Realistically I'd say we'd lose one of those away games, draw one and win one. I also think we'll win the home game which would give us 7 points and a total of 76 pts (if we beat Palace) Spurs' run in looks pretty straight forward tbh. I think they'll beat Brighton and West Ham at home, draw at Bournemouth and beat Everton, giving them 10 points and a total of 77pts Chelsea are hit and miss this season. If Hazard has an off game they look pretty toothless, I can see them dropping points at Burnley, losing at Utd, beating Watford and drawing at Leicester. So I'm going to say 5 points and a total of 71pts Utd have had a revolution under Ole, but have hit the skids a bit now the Honeymoon period is over. I think they'll lose to City, beat Chelsea, Hudds and Cardiff. Giving them 9pts and a total of 73pts So final table if all of this pans out would look like this: 3. Spurs 77pts 4. Arsenal 76pts 5. Utd 73pts 6. Chelsea 71pts. Of couse, I could be completely wrong though
I'd probably agree about United. Don't think we'll finish top 4 but it was always going to be one hell of a task after the first half of the season. EDIT: Although you've missed off our game against Everton lol
Ole's done a brilliant job, but can he sustain it next season ? Personally I think you need to invest quite heavily as there's far too many passengers at Utd. The one thing you can be assured of is that Utd will always have some money to throw at their problems.
If we **** Pogba off there's a nice (alleged) €150 million for a couple of decent players. Sell Lukaku, there's another €50 million, at least. It's not even about spending wisely, it's about selling wisely. Depends on tomorrow for us. If we win, I reckon we'll win the last three so could even afford to lose to City and still be top four. In our favour is the last two games are bankers.
Couldn't ask for a more friendly last two games in Hudds and Cardiff. The City and Chelsea games will be tough though and you could conceivably lose them both.
Probably won't lose it tbh, but it all depends on who turns up. Both you and Chelsea have been a bit like us this season, on your day you can beat anybody. But on another, you just look bereft of ideas and pretty easy to break down. Buy yeah, the EL will have an impact on both Arsenal and Chelsea in the run in.
The gap at the top is huge... has the PL now become a top 2 with a mini league behind? Next season will be interesting.
