Anyone remember when Carragher quit England because a half fit Ledley King was played at centre back alongside Terry ahead of him and he played right back.

Carragher is ****, tries hard but slow and always likely to make a mistake.

Come on King, he's not ****.
He's a very good centre-half, who gives 100% in every game for Liverpool, but he's a little off being a truly top-class defender, for me.

I can understand why Liverpool fans love him.
He's one of those fully committed stoppers, like Dawson for us.

He's never been in Ledley's class, but he was not bad, in his day. However, I think he's probably past his sell by at the moment. Honest endeavour - but not much else.

To be fair you could probably build the Taj Mahal around him before he escaped, he's so slow.

Tbh i've never been a fan of defenders like him so a little harsh maybe, Rio, King and footballing defenders i don't mind but the old fashioned, slow but physical ones i hate - Terry, Carragher, Dawson etc.

You need one of each, King.
It's no coincidence that clubs pair them up.

King and Carragher are two differently styled centre backs, both in my opinion are worthy of the top class status (although as a Spurs fan I'd have King any day over Carragher).

Carragher is your more "body on the line" defender and will literally as his label suggests, put his body on the line to help the team.

King is a more relaxed and technical player, he seems to anticipate the ball amazingly and therefore never seems to need to make last ditch tackles - though when he does (just ask Robben!) he makes them look amazing!

It won't be long before at least 100,000 Scousers spam the living crap out the government with a petition demanding full disclosure of every refereeing decision that has ever gone against their team.

Of course, if you say that Liverpool regular cheat to win or even draw games, your forum will be spammed...

Sorry but that's a bit harsh in my opinion. The recent e-petition was very close to many peoples hearts, so making fun about it goes beyond football banter.
