You're seriously behind the times, into the 3rd series and they're still spending big on that. Its also Amazon's biggest show and they're planning a 4th series, which will see them probably spending more as they're going to focus on the 'Specials' format, getting rid of the tent stuff.
Btw for anyone who cares. Last ever grand tour was on. As in not really last ever just they are dropping the tent abd travk and boring 2000s type tv that top gear is stuck with and just going to do specials like the outer *****lia one they did last week
Competition is good, but theres a pojnt where disney could ruin **** by taking all content off "regular tv" to force people's hands. There only so many subbies people will pay.
If you try to stay away from spoiling **** for the hard workers amongst us who didn't get a chance to see GoT yet then I suppose all you could say is this took a lot of threads and quickly pulls **** together so I'm thinking ****s kicking off next week. Really saying no more.
tbh yes. its really something that they probably.like to do with an audience but it's not the core of show. conversation street and a car lap basically. Clarkson prob gets a buzz off the audience that's all.
Noticed that as the last series went on there was less and less Tent stuff until the *****lia episode where there was none at all. Not to be smart or anything, but this is what I predict would happen all along. When they moved to Amazon I originally thought the show would be based on the 'Specials', but I guess Amazon (and the trio) were worried and that they needed to carry on the Top Gear formant. Think this is the best move for GT, the whole car review stuff is old hat and no one really cares about that stuff anymore. The Adventure parts of the show have always been the best.
there was another USA special which had none as well? I would generally agree. It was that team that redefined car shows with it from the quinton wilson spiv type car reviews, but they are so far removed from it now.. It not about being silly any more it's virtually Neanderthals do Michael Palin...
Roughly 70mins in watching Pledge (about 20mins left) and internet as died Edit... given up, ****ing internet as been **** for over two months. Rang Virgin up earlier to give them a bollocking. Was told it was "a complicated problem to fix" and that I'd be reimbursed; I'll look forward to receiving £1.75 but I won't be holding my breath!!!
Spoiler: S08E01 I thought they did a good job of moving forward a lot of expected plotlines. The armies are already in Winterfell, Jon already knows his true parents and is trained in dragon riding, Jamie is facing Bran again. Yara is already rescued and Theon on his way back. Hopefully Sansa can get over herself now. Don't give a **** about Euron though.
Spoiler: spoiler I thought it key that everywhere a character turned there was bran telling them what to do. they set up cercei for end game too. 20k golden company plus lannisters can't face the horde don't worry about the smart girl. the issue is the northern lords. the next trailer shows the dead seeing somewhere lights. so that's going to be big. but the thing for me is arya is far too cocky strutting round so imo shes a fall coming. Really the final battle.will be ****ing huge and I'm not talking the one where they kill zombies. 6 episodes left. night kind and cercei to come.
Finished ST Disco 2. Interesting, its alot better than the first series. Upsides *Series is a fix for the poor 1st series. *They tone down the 'alien' of the Klingons and move them back closer to TNG Klingons. Alot of the over the top technology is removed or used alot less and by making it the bad guy they can virtually remove it all together for future series. *The Storyline is better and fits better into the existing lore. *Character development, the main characters are less irritating and actually seem to be more Star Trek. *Spock and Pike are well done. Downsides *The lack of episode stories does rob pretty much all the secondary characters of any personality. *The overuse of Section 31, its supposed to be a secret organisation. *Still using the Stupid Spore drive (although less) Overall I'd say its up to a 7/10 (from a 3 or 4)
