Even the best way will have failures. But if those guys had been playing for Ajax I'm sure they would have been in high demand.
If Winks was at Ajax and de Jong at Spurs then I think @Dier Hard would probably be keen to sign Winks to replace de Jong

I'm sure if de jong was at spurs and winks was at ajax you wouldnt want winks and thought he was overpriced.

He was unfortunate, in that an injury he got winning a game for
Spurs effectively ended his Spurs career (Pochettino it seems
has neither the time nor money to squander on hoping for a
return to form that characterised Wenger and the Goon HG crocks) . :(

I'd suggest Bolton fans are cautious about the announcement of their new owner...

If the cheque clears, he can. Worst case scenario he just tells The FA that he's never heard of bankruptcy and he didn't know that it was a bad thing to lie about owing millions

Well it worked for Wayne Hennessey...

As @BobbyD intimated I would be arguing to keep de Jong...who would certainly look worse playing in a better league

God, The Europa is so boring after the CL isn't it?

2 English clubs in The Europa semis and 2 English clubs in The CL semis, not bad at all.

Arsenal surely favourites for the EL now. Napoli hugely underwhelming across 2 legs. With the team and manager they have I expected far better. Can't see any of the other teams outfoxing Emery, who is a serial winner of this cereal packet competition.

I hope you're right mate. Would be mint if Emery wins a European trophy in his first season with us. Especially after all the issues we've had with our squad and the season-ending injuries to 3 crucial first-team players at the beginning of the campaign.

Regardless of how this season ends, I've seen enough from him to think he can get us out of the rut we've been in for the last however many years. The players look so much fitter, they are covering more distance, they are beginning to defend better (6 clean sheets and 1 goal conceded in the last 7 games), despite my reservations over the majority of them. I still think we have a lot of deadwood to clear out, but I'm happy with how his first season has gone so far.

Napoli were very mediocre over both games. There was no dynamism or impetus from them to really show they wanted it. Which is bizarre really, as they are 20 points behind Juventus but are comfortable in 2nd. So there is no threat of them falling out of the Champions League places, and this was a real opportunity for them to win a trophy. Insigne, Mertens and Milik were neutralised with ease.

Have to say, we were extremely disciplined tonight though. One of the best defensive displays we've had all season.

That would be such a humongous game changer. It would silence, and dumbfound, so many critics and rival fans.

It's for that reason that I just don't see it happening. <laugh>

(Imagine he did it without Kane too. I mean, WTF would pundits have to say? <laugh>)

Where do you see us failing? We almost beat Liverpool didn't we and we do have the ability to beat Ajax over two legs, Eriksen being our secret weapon. Barca? Depends which turns up.

What makes Eriksen our secret weapon. He is not exactly in the form of his life. Do you think he has been producing poor free kicks to lull Ajax into a sense of false security. Lamela is more likely to be the ‘secret’ weapon as he has not played recently.
