Yes, with Alli and/or Eriksen further back. Not sure when Lamela will be fit again. I'd like to see Dier back soon. Wanyama has been a revelation, but given he was supposed to have a Ledley like injury, we can't count on him too much. Hope Moussa recovers quickly. Dier and Moussa (rarely seen cause of Dier illness and injury) have a lot of potential.
The good thing about last night´s victory is how many new fans of a younger generation are going to adopt Spurs as their choice of team to follow. After Easter there will no doubt be many new Tottenham shirts on the school playgrounds across the nation and beyond. Furthermore, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could be the number choice of ground to choose for a Stadium tour for thousands of students coming to the UK for their summer schools. It is a win-win situation all round.
Enjoy......? No. I hate watching us on the TV, even when we're good. At the game, I'm unfailingly positive - ranting, raving, singing, clapping and generally going mental like some rabid animal. On the box, I can't release the tension and Mrs B and the kids know to make themselves scarce. I go from 'happy clappy Mofo' to full on negative bastard. Last night was like having my testicles removed without anaesthetic. Mrs B was worried for my health and sanity. So, who's got a spare for the Semi's to save my kids and Mrs from further torture?
Their lurkers used to come over here a hell of a lot to spit feathers, yet never paid a visit to the Saltypool board
Apparently, we're going ahead with the hotel build next year. That says the club's in good financial health and that the corporate element to the stadium and development is going well. If you're in London and want to go to a stadium for a tour, our place is THE choice now.....see the incredible South Stand, climb up on the roof and then abseil down off it before a Michelin Star lunch. What could be nicer?
More to the point the look on the face and the body language of the City player whose hand it did come off said it all. Sometimes all that's needed is the reaction of those who really know! Anyway, absolutely chuffed for you lot - good luck in the semis.
I only caught the last 2 minutes on my ipad, sitting in the car with the Mrs, in a parked queue to board a ferry. My reaction at final whistle was, I have to admit, 'enthusiastic'. However, my verbal response to being politely told to 'shhhhhh' was probably not the best for marital harmony! No, we're still not speaking
Could be worse, most of my neighbours aren't speaking to me after my response was to quietly walk out the back door, wander into the garden, and let out a guttural cheer It's not like I was the one who nicked their catalytic converter at 4 o'clock on Wednesday morning or anything...
Mrs B III knows that I love her more than I can express in words. She also knows what Spurs mean to me. When I suggested we go to the Real Madrid away game for our wedding anniversary, she just said "Sure....nice hotel, though?" When we played the AC Milan away game, we were driving away from her beloved grandfather in hospital. When I pulled over and got out of the car to go mental when Crouchie scored, she didn't turn a hair....she's some girl!
I guess we must be doing something right! Let's send them blowups of our new stadium.....that will really make them "blow up"!
Love Mrs LoSIII to bits, but she doesn't 'get' the connection we all have to our club. Does cause some occasional domestic friction.... but always
Mrs B II once said.."You love Tottenham more than me...." I ****ing love Arsenal more than I loved her by then.
Don't do that again,Brian.I nearly peed myself with laughter. I'm very old you know! No. Do it again,I'll die happy!!!!COYS!
It's not a lack of love for sports. I watched an ESPN documentary about the sporting love and disappointments of Cleveland, titled 'Believeland' that shows the love is just as strong as here. The quality is piss poor but it's worth the time....believe!
I hate American "Football!...and basketball. But for an old Tottenham boy I fell into baseball. But that's a relaxing day out with beer, coke and hot dogs. What have I done?
Me too. I suffer from insomnia and tinnitus and often stay up to the wee small hours watching the baseball. I went to Candlestick Park before they tore it down and have also seen Red Sox v Yankees at Fenway Park - a great occasion. It ain't football but it's good sport.
