They need to lift themselves whereas we don't and no, we will not forget top 4 because we've done nothing yet. There's no guarantee we'll win the CL so effort for the top 4 is an essential. Playing the likes of Brighton is small beer after this but we must still focus and not get over confident. We can afford to rest top players for that match because we'll win it regardless of who plays.

I've only seen 2 angles: one that was inconclusive and the other that clearly shows the ball clearly missing the arm.
As you say, it is also clear the Llorente was doing everything possible to avoid that contact.
It was not handball and the refs decision was 100% correct. (technically this was not a 'VAR decision' as it didn't change his original decision. Without VAR it would have been given anyway.)
Move on media-mongers, nothing to see with this :emoticon-0148-yes:

(PS - the ref was a class above anything in the PL)

Never listen to this station, but I suppose for them, everything is rosy in their world when Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea win but God forbid a bunch of outsiders turning up and defeating their favourites. What will they do when Spurs win the CL?

Didn't we reach the semis in the old European Cup in 61/62?

I turned on the radio this morning and heard the inane drivel of Alan Brazil. Despite trying to lig off the Spurs connection - "My mate Ossie", "Well done Chrissy"; "Get well, Glenn mate" - he was in full mourning for Citeh this....errr....morning.

The bloke must have done a bundle on them as he was incandescent about "the handball". <laugh>

The only funnier thing was footage of Cundy and all of his crew from last night. Watching his delight as Sterling scored turn into agony, was probably one of the top 5 moments of last night....and there are plenty to choose from.

I feel you have the advantage of the home leg first. It is posible that teams really feel the pressure in the return leg, knowing they are expected to attack, knowing they must not concede. As we have seen, drawing an away leg 0-0 is no guarantee of success (Bayern), and Juve holding the advantage against Ajax after their first leg.

I found it pathetic how much air time was devoted to analysing the Llorente goal. I wad half surprised when they didn't bring in sub-atomic infrared technology to prove beyond a doubt that the ball had glanced his arm hair. Never, ever a hand ball as his arm was in a completely natural position and any movement was due to him being pushed by Laporte.

As you said, the ref had a superb game. Couple of the yellows I felt were a bit harsh but easily the best performance from a ref I can recall seeing in years. Oliver, Marriner, Dean, Atkinson et al should be forced to go to a summer boot camp with him and lots of medieval torture instruments.

Another good reason to support Spurs, as they may not be the darlings of the media, and seem to incur the dislike of many rival fans from Chelsea, West Ham and even little old Southampton (the board I belong to).It is pathetic this generic dislike of Tottenham from supporters of other clubs.

    1. Chelsky + Spanners : because they are race-hating vermin who still think they are in the 70s.

    2. Soton : Hoddle. Arry. Taking your good players (Bale, Toby, Wanyama) .

    3. Goons : no explanations needed.

    4. Others : WTF knows what their motivations are ??

I don't mind other fans hating us. I hate a lot of them just as much. <laugh>

The media is a different matter. Despite Citeh and previously Chelsea having cheated financially and trafficking kids from around the world, all you hear is how incredible they are and what wonderful players they have. "Just look at that incredible bench for City".

Why is nobody in the media questioning how a no mark club, that can't sell out its free stadium, can afford to pay £60m for a full back and £200k per week to players who hardly get a game? Sure, take the piss out of Spurs, if you like, but FFS, stop sucking Pep's balls and act like journalists.
