So how much was aguero interfering with play? It seems to be that the thing has become far too subjective but imo I'd be happy if a player is offside and gets flagged. I really didn't like the way the lino worked in our game. he kept flag down for ****ing ages when guys were CLEARLY 2 yards offside and even went for ball. We have to have clear rules. And rules should be to flag
Yeah there is new angles where it clearly hits the elbow first but hard to say it was deliberate. I wouldn't want a penalty given if it hit a defender like that.
there are clear rules however our lino took it to extremes since it is don't flag if there is any doubt.
The late flagging was very strange. The other thing I didn't understand why there were no replays in our game and Ajax game of the VAR decisions they were looking at but the Spurs games there were.
How much was he interfering? You mean when it went through to him and he made the assist? I’d say a bloody lot
The final goal? Aguero was offside when it hits a city player and goes to him (vary narrowly though). As for llorentes handball, its happened quite a few times. It wasnt deliberate and his arms are in a neutral position and ultimately he scores with it coming off his hip. Also it took a million replays in super slow mo to see it hit his arm so its not even clearcut so i wouldnt want that overturned
Seen the replays on the highlights. Never hit his arm, off his thigh, might have caught him on the hip/waist first but imo not his arm. City/Pep are media darlings, wouldn't believe everything written
I don't think city are going to fancy being drawn against English opposition in the knock out stage of Champion league in the future. Last year they were knocked out by Liverpool, this year by Tottenham.
Yeah i think if you need forensic scientsts to pour over it then you've gone the wrong way. The they set a clear set of expectations here as a directive from on high a) officals need to officiate. stop this "do not flag" etc. b) referees need to be miked up and make a damned call. If its a goal or red card make the call then review to look for evidence to over turn it. this tapping ear piece ****e is so poor. c) have a clear set of questions: Any reason to not award this goal, which player committed the red card offense, was this a penalty? d) take power out of refs hands then. He's made his call, he's asked his question. now mike up the offical who reviews and lets ****ing hear what he says. Example last night: LFC score in the end. It looked offside. It was flagged offside. We got no replays, were told nothing for a minute. we should have been told a) ref disallows goal for offside. (linesmans must flag) - we hear this. on big screen in stadium if available. must be clear hand gesture by ref. b) question: any evidence to over turn this decision - we hear this. c) officals review and tell ref to over turn decison or not. wave hands. In the LFC case. To be honest had a ref made an onfield decision of no goal then there was one view onside and one that looks off. It could have stayed as offside... in other words make sure is BLATENTLY the wrong call. In this way we do away with all this bull **** about handballs or not handballs and offside or not and say.. the officals decided this... the evidence is marginal either way so we stay with onfield call. WE MAKE MARGINAL CALLS ACCEPTABLE AND PART OF GAME. We take away the blatantly wrong and move on here.
Pep and City fans in melt down because of a marginal VAR decision. Just let me put this on record: I hope Spurs equalise with a clearly offside goal in the 96th minute on Saturday. Then FIFA follow that up with a 2 transfer window ban. There’s winning and then there’s winning unfairly. City have been doing the latter for some time now. Karma would be wonderful.
Interesting, didn’t see that on highlights. Angle on highlights doesn’t look like touch his arm but can clearly see it does. Problem is, they have this, it has to be deliberate, but then at same time also have separate to say you can’t wcore with your arm. Given it hit his arm and was accidental and then hit his thigh would you call that scoring with your arm? Or was it hitting the thigh that made it go in? This is where handball is so subjective that never going to get 1 answer if you ask 10/20/30 referees.
