Never saw the game...was out until they went 4-2 up...posted as I walked in...we equalised so my jinx gene kicked right in and I couldn't watch in case it ruined it for us... Yep...I am that ****ing mad Saw the post match stuff but have just seen the highlights. Son ... utter class. Llorente ... put a big shift in. Moura ... reallygood first half. We took the fight to them and believed. Loved...absolutely loved watching Wanyama bringing down De Bryne in his own half as he broke...doing to him what he does to others week in week out. Imho we deserved to go through...scoring 3 away goals in Europe against the favourites is outstanding. No one gave us a chance...except Pochettino and co. COYS
Llorente still doing the business...i remember when we were interested in him when he was at his peak...we eventually got our man please log in to view this image
Citeh are out and a nation rejoices....and this is why... Q: "How do we create an atmosphere?" A: "The club's got to help...." They're a ****ing disgrace.
Why was Trippier the wrong side of the goalscorer twice?....and why did Toby not head the ball away instead of bending down and letting City score?
Gooner here in peace. Well played Spurs, great game to watch and you played some superb football. It’s brilliant that you stuffed up the quadruple for City. Genuinely chuffed for you.

I'm not going to lose sight of the fact that we actually lost the match or that Nando didn't direct the ball into the net, it hit him and it DID NOT touch his arm. City were lucky with the deflected shot so it evened out overall. Now, is Son suspended and where's the first leg? Son looked a very happy man after the match, not the look of a suspended player at all. If he is suspended we still have Alli, Moura, Llorente, Eriksen and Lamela who can do a job up front so I'm hopeful of getting to the final even without Son. I'm afraid Harry is superfluous for the rest of this season. we're adjusting to the transition of his absence and building up momentum and a winning attitude. I'd have preferred to have qualified after a draw rather than a defeat but we are there and this time lads and lasses I don't think we'll bottle a semi, over two legs I think we'll make it. A Liverpool player said that their result flattered to deceive so that's hopeful for us should we and Liverpool make the final. Dortmund and City despatched, bring on Ajax.
Just a sidenote, I don't think Poch should have behaved that way, Bill Nicholson wouldn't have. A coach should show more restraint instead of losing it like that, should be in control.
Wow, the morning after the night before – Still euphoric, still not sure how we got through but we did and a momentous achievement. Did anyone actually enjoy the match? From my point of view it was one of the hardest matches to watch that I can recall, from Silvas goal to the 97th minute I was completely on tenterhooks and even when Fernando scored I remained convinced that they would score another, and was suitably amazed when VAR rescued us in stoppage time. As for our players and coach they all deserve credit, It’s not a match to criticise players, I will credit Wanyama who was clearly struggling with the pace of the game at times, but with very little support in midfield he really put a shift in, I was amazed that he went the distance and I am pleased that he was able to. Wasn’t sure when Fernando replaced Mousa, thought that was bold from Poch and at times early in the 2nd half I was wondering if he had got it wrong – but fair play to Llorente, he scored and he did his fair share of chasing down City. Ajax will be a very similar challenge, gonna need a full quota of fit midfielders by then to give them a game. Champions league semi finalists sounds good today – Finalists will sound even better, but that is 2 very hard matches away, and we must win the premier league matches around the semi too, just to ensure we are in this competition again next year.
Hearing on TalkShite that they've seen an angle on the replays that shows the ball hit Llorente's arm. Not seen it myself, so not even sure it exists but that's what they say. The danger with this is that you keep checking as many angles as you have until you get the "right result". In other words, whilst VAR could be the great leveler in that it should not favour certain teams as the subjective opinion of refs on the field does, in reality in the PL they can just use it to confirm their bias. This means for example that if you look closely enough on the slowed down version you'll find there may well be contact with Salah, but you'll still have no idea if there was enough contact because you're not reviewing it in real time. You're not interested if he's dived, you only care that the penalty has been justified. This is quite opposite from the ref last night, who applied the correct "clear and obvious" principle to what he was watching. He clearly thought there was nothing there to change his mind as he tellingly shrugged his shoulders. That is how VAR should work! Yet have the same incident in the PL and they can probably find "the right angle" which will allow decisions to keep going to the favoured teams.
Tbh the ball did hit llorentes arm first imo (look at where his skin ripples when its slaps his arm). As you say it wasnt clear and obvious either so the ref shouldnt overrule it Saying that by the laws of the game, it didnt change the balls movement significantly, didnt help him to score, it wasnt on purpose and his arms were in a neutral position so regardless or it hitting or not to award the goal was the correct decision
At 4-2 twas possibly the most painful Spurs game I have endured, mainly because the opportunity for Spursyness was everywhere. As some people have stated, this was the most important game for Spurs since Crouchy 2010 (ironically that was Citeh too) . This one had Spursy written all over it, and to fight thru to the result to prevail is a massive marker in the team progression. Pochettino needs to read the riot act to the squad immediately. Every remaining PL game they play in, is now an audition for a potential place on a CL final team sheet. Front up for your team-mates in spite of the injury plague, and the reward may be there for you.
