Against - has spent millions upon millions of pounds to make little/no progress. Scraping into the top ten on goal difference doesn't make you an established top 10 team. Basically in 5 years you have gone from relegation battlers to comfortable mid table. He has changed the team 4 or 5 times in his tenure, a completely new side each year. This firstly doesn't fill current players with confidence, and certainly doesn't let you get a settled side. He has led you to a defeat and a flukey draw against your arch rivals. Without getting into it, the Gyan saga seems to suggest he has lost the faith of the players. He spends his entire managerial career coming up with bull**** excuses for everything. He signed 2 exciting new strikers early in the window and would rather play no strikers than play them against Brighton. He declares that you need more strength up front, so signs one loan striker and loans another one out?? It's well discussed how tactically inept he is, continually playing players out of position. Lastly, (but unimportant if what you say is true) he was born a Newcastle fan.

For - errrrrrrrrrrm. As a Newcastle fan I really want him to stay?

I think you covered the arguments against him pretty well! One mistake though is that it was 2 terrible defeats against you lot that rankles with Sunderland supporters!

agreeing with the majority of you. and in the same way you slagged off our transfer policies before the season. i made points and opinions, and you lot, who are still crying on your mommas knees about the absolute disaster that is your club, get deeply offended and start dishing out the abuse. please yourselves, your making a fool of yourselves.

No, we are abusing a horrible little back street, scrotum tickler like you chum.

Our squad is still better than yours but we have a numpty picking the team. Still, what can you expect form a thick ****ing geordie?

I dont take back one word I sauid about your untried foreigner gambles, as nothing has changed to make me think otherwise. 20 games in and I'll tell you what I think then.

    In the meantime. **** off.

Well I will answer the OP

Millions upon millions, hmm where, 17 million deficit in reuilding the team that Keane left him with. even Stoke have a 90 million deficit and thats pullises team from when they came up.

Only WBA finished on 47 points, we got 10th over them, worst we could have done was 11th, our remit was top 10, we got that.

Relegation material 5 years ago, to mid table now, hmm yeah so whats your point.

Derbies are just a PITA for us, name me one manager that has won them in the last 30 years, nope didnt think so, such is life, bloody painful, but **** happens.

How has the Gyan crap means he has lost faith in the players (or them in him), by the sounds of it, it was Gyan that wanted to go, after telling Bruce he wanted to stay s days before he went (the truth wil come out eventually but it was sun and money that motivated him i reckon more than Bruce)

Bullshit excuses, doesnt every manager when they get beat, its always someone elses fault, never theirs.

Brighton was a puzzler, but it was 0-0 until extra time, so at least the defence worked.

Seemingly we had a striker but upstairs pulled the plug on it, and again, Gyan wanted to go, so he went, same attitude as I would have, dont want to be here, then **** off then.

Out of position, depends, its not FM here, I was watching a match the other day, think it was England, and the commentator said, more and more teams are playing a right footed player as a left winger, as they can cross from different angles, so its not the end of the world to do so, but i do think they should be interchangable, and we were any good with tactics, we would be bloody managers.

Newcastle fan, dont really give a ****e if he is.

As a sunderland fan I want him to stay, but its getting harder and harder (as no one listens mostly) to have arguments for him to stay.

let's think who the sad one is here. a grown man wrote a longwinded, heartfelt message saying he was sorry to go but he couldn't take the abuse any more (read:didnt like those who disagreed with him).

grow up you sad, sorry, lonely little man. and lets face it, your the worst on this forum for the abuse.

Disgraceful way to treat someone who is only here for debate and not to bate.

Problem is, he is clearly a masterbater, as it's the way he gets his jollies. :p

thanks for the reply. i totally understand all of your responses, and they all have plenty of reasoning behind them. i still however think my points are correct, but i respect your opinion. in terms of the defecit, i think you were lucky to get over 40 million for 2 players that werent worth that much, but i suppose you could say the same for carroll. personally, i think with better leadership Sunderland would be established top 10 and probably have got European football by now, but hey what do I know, i'm only a football fan
