Tiote to take care of Taarabt, hoping for a win. Can see it being a draw.

Anyway, it's likely Pardew does the ****wit thing of starting McLoven on the right and Ba and Shola up front.

How can managers be so stupid at times?

I expect the same team as we played against Sunderland, but with Ba behind Best in a 4-5-1.

I'm going for 1-1. Should be a cracking game.

Some Newcastle fans are citing our loss to Wigan as a reason they should be able to win easily. This was before we signed 6 new players and were forced to put out a weaker team than we had all of last season due to a virus. We had two centre backs in the full back positions and a League 1 standard striker upfront on his own (who hasn't even made our 25). I expect only 4 or 5 of that team to start tomorrow.

Without being too biased I would say that we now have similar strength squads and should both, fingers crossed, finish mid-table.

Smudger; with respect our 1st team is better than yours on paper, and Newcastle at home is a game we should be lookign to get a win in.
Jtaime; we've never used smith as a striker, you're forgetting DjCampbell. I seriously hope all of the toon are judging us on the Wigan performance, because it's incredibly unrepresentative.
In fact none of the results so far are relevant to this game- Everton included!
We're fielding a completely different side, under completely different conditions.
The wave of positivity after recent goings-on at the club is phenominal, i honestly can't see us losing with how fired up everyone's going to be.
    4-2.
Two for Jay, two for best, one for Tarbs + SWP :emoticon-0105-wink:

    Kenny
    Young Gabbidon Ferdinand Traore
    Barton Faurlin
    SWP Taraabt DJ
    Bothroyd

[although, DJ has only started training again this week after the virus, might start on the bench/be replaced by smith]

How is your 1st team better than that?

I disagree entirely with the highlighted in bold bit, but can understand why you'd want to target a win.

I wasnt basing my thoughts on your games so far, I just feel we have a better side, and dont really rate many of your signings (Barton being the exception).

Your first team is better? Sorry but can I have some of what you're smoking?

Yes I expect it to be a close game due to our loss of momentum over the international break but we have a far better team on paper, especially since we turned down the likes of Bothroyd, Campbell and SWP in the transfer window.

Forgetting how our championship side did a much better job of winning it than you lot. <whistle>

    Kenny: Krul
    Young: Simpson
    Gabbidon: Taylor
    Ferdinand: Colo
    Traore: R Taylor
    Barton: Cabaye
    Faurlin: Tiote
    SWP: Jonas
    Taraabt: Obertan
    DJ: Ba
    Bothroyd: Best

Those in bold are the better players. 6-1 to us, with four being of similar ability.

You have Gabbidon and Ferdinand playing CB, probably the worst combination in the league. Even Shola will look dangerous against those two

    Can't agreee why aye!
Kenny was our player of the season last year, no one in the premiership knows of the quality of Faurlin; and bothroyd/SWP i'd take over the two you highlighted.
You might be right about gabbidon/ferdinand, but fortunately they played together at west ham, so should be pretty solid.
I'd certainly take our keeper and front 6 over yours!
I suppose we're all bound to prefer our own teams though!
